3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark, rudy brown with a medium tan head. Dark chocolate and coffee aromas pour out of the glass. Rich chocolate flavor follows with a cake-like breadiness. Although the texture is rich, the body is right in style for a Porter, not too thin, not to thick. A bit of dark roasted coffee taste comes through along with a slight bitter acridness that nicely balances out the sweet chocolate. There’s an underlying earthiness to this but again it’s restrained. Leaves a lasting bittersweet chocolate flavor behind along with the coffee and slightly charred wood. The 8% ABV is completely hidden here and makes this dangerously and deliciously drinkable.

22oz bottle shared by Ben. Solid. Doesn’t blow me out of the water like a lot of the other CC beers we tried that night. Chalky vanilla chocolate. Classic. Well done. Coffee chocolate tones.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Roasty malt, chocolate, dark dried fruits and light coffee aroma. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel, Chocolate and a coffee finish. Pretty good but a little light for a Baltic Porter.

Another on thanks to Tony. Going to take me the rest of the year to polish this box he dumped on me. Black/brown with a short tan head. Aroma is light chocolate, some fruity hops, some coffee. Taste is a bit of a light roast, some chocolate but a floral hop that seems to combat that. Its ok, its just not my thing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Fenton Firehall. A very dark almost black pour with a medium tan head. Rich, sugary toffee aroma with undertones of coffee. Taste is the same with just the right amount of sweetness and chocolate on the finish. Excellent brew!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Medium brown with amber highlights and a low tan head. Dry roast, chocolate, light fruit acids, light hop character. Medium bodied. Not a bad porter, but I struggle to find the definitive Baltic traits (beyond the technicality of them using lager yeast).
