COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
CBC and our fellow islanders at Maui Brewing Co are bridging the distance from Hawaii to the mainland with big flavor, camaraderie, and generosity. This centennial, chinook, and nugget-stoked IPA, made floral with the addition of hibiscus flower, is the first of an annual series of collaborative beers benefiting local charities. This time around, a donation will be made to Beer for Boobs, a Susan G Komen 3-day team formed by San Diego company White Labs, who contributed the yeast for this brew. No matter which side of the Pacific you’re on, there’s no better reason to " Drink Pink!"

Fresh, crisp and floral. Pours a light red color with very little head. Smells fresh and piney - great hops. Taste is a combo of piney hops and hibiscus tea and it is delicious!!!! Finishes with an essence of guava and crisp hops. This is a surprisingly fantastic brew! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

September 9th, 2012 - Let fly the jokes about "bridging" breweries, locales, and punning off the epically long, curvaceous bridge leading from the San Diego mainland to Coronado Island - I think the companies behind these brews already have. Leaving aside low hanging pun fruit, the lovechild of Coronado Brewing Company and Maui Brewing Co. is all the aroma and smell I remember from scattered and privileged vacations to Hawaii as a teenager - flowers, honeysuckle, sweet agave, and even bubble gum. Maybe these were the smells of aromatically engineered hotel lobbies, but I also remember that no matter how botanical, natural or raw the environment was, there was always a sort of subtle sweetness in the air. This was true for hotel lobbies just as much as it was for backyards and hiking trails deep in island’s verdant thicket. And as glowingly lovely as this aroma is, the taste is strangely spicy and stripped of all the Tiki Room style floral notes that I enjoyed in the smell. A twangy aftertaste further confuses my tongue, and the whole thing tastes like a sour beer gone bad with a weird, half boiled jalapeño taste, and that is definitely not the flavor of the islands, either Hawaii or Coronado, that I remember.

22 oz. bottle shared by b3shine in Dec. 2012. Pours a pinkish orange amber color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have quite a bit of perfumy florals notes, herbal, toasted malts, grass, dry pale malts. Decent hibiscus ipa that benefited from being pretty fresh.

Keg at Cornado brewpub, Coronado Island, SD 20/04/14. Clear amber with a moderate off white covering that retains well. Nose is caramel malt, bitter orange, light spice, floral hops, perfumed notes. Taste comprises orange pith, caramel malt, pinch of spice, herbal notes, red grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lingering hop bitterness. Decent enough floral driven IPA.

Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Medium orange, lightly hazy. Lovely perfumey hibiscus floral notes carry the nosf and palate. Biscuit malts provide support. The finish gives way to late bitterness, allowing the delicate florals to shine. A nuanced IPA, not a hopheads delight, and certainly not a bitter bomb, but a lovely brew nonetheless.

Bottle to glass. Pours a clear amber color with a moderate off-white head. Aroma is mostly floral/grassy hops. Flavor is mostly grassy and a mild bitter. Light in body. Leaves a funky aftertaste. Drinkable but not sure how I feel about it.

Hazy amber beer, good white head. Palate is light, dry and minerally crisp. Light airy malt. There is a nice tangy fruit sherbet zing here, it really tantalises the tongue! Hibiscus fruits balance nicely with mildly skunky hops. Little pine. Finishes soft and semi dry with more sherbet zing. Love the sherbet! Light and very refreshing.
