Deutlich hopfiger Antrunk, blumig. Angenehme Herbe, vollmundig. Intensiv bleibend, leicht grasig, weich. Die Blumigkeit wird auch im Mittelteil absolut in den Vordergrund gestellt, wenig helles Malz. 10/12/12/12/10/12

On tap @ Stone Liberty Station. Pours a nice orange color with a white head. Nose is sweet caramel, pineapple, and orange. Light grass and pine, some melon, and lemon. Flavors of pineapple, orange, and melon up front. Light pine flavor and bitterness. Mild grass and some sweet caramel malt.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours golden amber with a creamy off-white head. Tropical fruits are wafting past me just from the pour. Deep inhale is more of the same plus a very light touch of cat pee. Full bodied. Creamy/foamy carb. Flavor is so complicated. Tropical fruit/floral/pine/citrus. Really good hop burn plus a little heat down low in the gullet. Finishes hoppy as all heck, with some nice caramel still detectable. Super delicious.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with large frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer and very good double IPA.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz. bottle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of resinous hops and a big caramel backbone. Flavour is very much the same, with a bit more residual sweetness than I like in my IIPAs. Drinkable in smaller amounts until the sweetness becomes a bit cloying. Not a sugar bomb, but still a bit too much. Good, but sub-standard for the style.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle - Huge aroma of grapefruit/pine and tropical fruit, well balanced against some nice sweet malts. Clear gold with a thin white head. Piney fresh hops, with a bit of an oily mouth feel. Really nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. Mostly clear golden yellow orange color. Thin white head. Decent dots of lace. Bigger body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. kind of slick texture. Bigger bitter taste, on spot for a fresh DIPA... Kind of a resiny, hoppy heat in the finish, suggests at the 9.5% abv. Nice resiny, grapefruit, citrusy hop character. Some sweetness, caramel malt, but as it is now, mostly just a lot of good fresh very hoppy heat. Overall, a solid DIPA. Just a little bite in the finish is my main complaint. Enjoyable overall. Gets the job done.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Stone Liberty Station. Pours a clear golden. Spotty lacing. Nose is pretty dank, lemongrass, butterscotch, gamey Asian melon like durian. Taste is spicy, waxy, bitter citrus, juicy. Nutty finish. Neutral sugar. No abrasiveness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Candied citrus fruit are grounded in honeyed malts before sandy hop resins seal this hefty Imperial IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy pale orange.
-Malt flavours are mostly contributed through flabby sugars, which doesn’t help the hop brightness either.
-Mouthfeel could be drier, for my tastes anyway. This is almost blond Barley Wine-like.
-This is still a pleasant sipper for warm evenings.
-This isn’t too different from their Idiot Double IPA.
