Just as the iconic Coronado Bay Bridge connects our island home to the mainland, this java-tinged dry stout, brewed using dark roasted coffee beans from a local San Diego artisanal roaster, provides a bridge uniting craft beer drinkers with CBC’s rich, flavorful SoCal brewing traditions.

Intense is the aroma of coffee, and coffee grounds. No other notes like a rich fruit or similar in this, so whilst the front is delightfully coffee and the finish is nicely dry there isn’t am middle bit, and it could do with a bit of a boost there. Just a bit. Otherwise get them in again I’m going again :-)

650 ml bottle. Pours black with light tan head of big bubbles. Aromas of oily roasted malts, cola, and black coffee. Flavors of back coffee and roasted malts. Very light body with quite a bit of carbonation. Clean and simple but nothing special.

Draft - Dark roast and coffee notes. Deep dark brown with a light brown head. Roasty and nice coffee notes without the bitterness or burnt notes.

Backlog. 22 oz bottle from Tipsy’s. Black appearance. Aroma and flavor of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Similar flavor, with a light dry finish. The body is a little thin for the style.

Bomber from Jim’s in Mundelein. Pours very dark brown with almost no head. Nose is huge coffee, espresso, raw beans. Also a lot of lactose. Taste is of sweet caramel, roast and some milky lactose. Medium bodied and quite light for a stout of any sort. Finishes dryly roasty, sweet caramel/milk, and short. A bit disappointing due to the lack of depth. Something with a bunch more body could be quite good as it is tasty enough. 13.6

Rich roast coffee, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. Black, lite tan head, creamy lacing and thin head retention. Full bodied, chocolate, roast, syrupy, mainly sweet with roast buttering notes. Lite bitterness, with lite refreshing dry notes, and decent balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
