Just as the iconic Coronado Bay Bridge connects our island home to the mainland, this java-tinged dry stout, brewed using dark roasted coffee beans from a local San Diego artisanal roaster, provides a bridge uniting craft beer drinkers with CBCís rich, flavorful SoCal brewing traditions.

Served on tap at The Joint in OB. The appearance is a deep coffee brown. Not much head. The aromas are full of a medium dark roast coffee with some oatmeal and malts. The flavors pretty much follow the nose. Moderately acidic coffee, some slight fruitiness at times. Great malty backing that is a touch milder on the malt roast pushing the brew slightly towards a brown. Medium to slightly full body. Very tasty coffee brew.

Intense is the aroma of coffee, and coffee grounds. No other notes like a rich fruit or similar in this, so whilst the front is delightfully coffee and the finish is nicely dry there isnít am middle bit, and it could do with a bit of a boost there. Just a bit. Otherwise get them in again Iím going again :-)

Aroma of fresh brewed Joe, ripe cherries, and earth. Flavors of vanilla, sugared coffee, and caramel swirl. Coca finish. Somewhat watery but pretty tasty overall.

650 ml bottle. Pours black with light tan head of big bubbles. Aromas of oily roasted malts, cola, and black coffee. Flavors of back coffee and roasted malts. Very light body with quite a bit of carbonation. Clean and simple but nothing special.

Backlog. 22 oz bottle from Tipsyís. Black appearance. Aroma and flavor of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Similar flavor, with a light dry finish. The body is a little thin for the style.

Bomber from Jimís in Mundelein. Pours very dark brown with almost no head. Nose is huge coffee, espresso, raw beans. Also a lot of lactose. Taste is of sweet caramel, roast and some milky lactose. Medium bodied and quite light for a stout of any sort. Finishes dryly roasty, sweet caramel/milk, and short. A bit disappointing due to the lack of depth. Something with a bunch more body could be quite good as it is tasty enough. 13.6
