3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The appearance is a deep dark brown with a small disappearing off white head. The aromas are full of brandy, oak, cinnamon, brown sugar. A nice sweet nose that is accented with a firm oak barrel edge. The flavors enter with a lot of honey with some brown sugar slurred in there. The honey really keeps going. Pretty boozy up front but a flavorful booze. The drying oak is a good attempt to balance the sweetness of the honey and brown sugar. The sweetness still prevails but it is not all of what this brew is about. As the drink continues a cherry influenced brandy take front stage with a medicinal to sour teetering. Some caramel, oak, and granny smith apples, vanilla too as well as rubbing alcohol at times. A strong carbonation suits the flavor profile well. Definitely more carbonation forward then a lot of barley wines. This is the first Coronado Brewing beer Iíve had in a while and it is real nice. Looks like I need to put them back on my radar.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to BMan1113VR for sharing this bottle. Dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is honey, oak, vanilla, caramel and toffee. The flavor is more of the same with some nice malt notes as well as some brandy and oak character. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bomber from PUBíR Vice President and Cambodian friend of mine Nunya Fuckenbizness. Pours thick and turbid ruddy muddy Carolina brown, and I see more floaties and particles dripping out of the bottle than Iíd like. The head is sparse and short-lived, but laces fairly well. Nose is, <Channels former college football announcer Keith Jackson> Holy Shit, lemme tell ya íbout the nose, Bob Griese. This one is more complex than the Wing T formation. A complex medley of spirity oak, pruney, plummy, and vinous fruit, molasses, brown sugar, port wine, and cacao. Tastes rich, very oaky, with a huge honey flavor, big citrus, cacao, brandy, brown sugar, and hops. Finishes complex ad delicious. Folks, this is as good as it gets for a barleywine. It does everything it needs to, has no deductions, and ramps up the degree of difficulty with the honey and brown sugar additions and oak brandy aging. I can find no deductions here. What a treat, what a beer, and this beer should be used as the paradigm of what I mean when I refer to the "Beer/Wine/Spirit Triple Point"...and to blow your mind further, throw Mead in there and ponder the unponderable to the point of never being discussed "Quadruple Point of Beer", a concept so revolutionary that it is beyond most peopleís comprehesion. I canít even fathom a Venn Diagram to illustrate this concept yet, but I am working feverishly on it, punks! One of the harder to acquire beers I have yet quaffed, and one of the best yet.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber purchased 15 months ago at the Escondido BevMo ($10.99). Pours a dark muddy-red hue with only a thin layer of beige foam with soon turns to nothing. Aroma of nice dark toffee, some oaked brandy, musty vanilla, molasses, and a bit of the orange blossom honey. Flavor of thick chewy toffee and caramel, brown sugar, sticky dark fruit, molasses, and some brandy. Has a really thick mouthfeel but not overly sweet. The high ABV is quite well concealed. Not particularly nuanced, but a pretty good BA barley wine nonetheless. (52, 786)

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle
A post dessert treat filled my stomach with rich flavors. Even after a year or two in the cellar this beast of a beer had a massive kick. This isnít a beer to take lightly. Fantastic and world class it makes me want to jump on a plane to California ASAP.
Aroma / Appearance - Even after all that time there were traces of carbonation. The warm body basks in the light like a glass full of melted caramel. Lazy legs give away the ABV as if you could not pick it up from the bouquet. Creamy vanilla, red vines, chocolate cream pie, and elderly hops are dense and heavy.
Flavor / Palate - The mouthfeel retains a trace of carbonation to help lighten up a thick chewy profile. Booziness seeps into the corners of the palate. The old hops have taken on a mix of caramel and vanilla aspects. The chewiness lingers in a thick heady finish. Well balanced, filling, and relaxing, this beer has all the ingredients of a barrel aged release done well.

22oz bottle. Rating #50. Great barleywine, tremendous aroma and flavor, lots of toffee and the brandy really adds to the complexity overall. (2690)

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark chestnut brown pour with a small, whithering off white head. Nose shows loads of plummy raisin type fruits, honey nectar, heavy brandy and caramel.Very christmas cake like with some heavy boozy tones from brandy. Taste is heavy on caramel and christmas cake fruits. Brandy takes over from a lot even considering the 2 odd years this has been laying down for. 11% never really comes through too much. Solid but not outstanding in any way

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, as pictured. I got this in a trade awhile back. Poured a hazy, dark brown. Smooth. Very sweet, raisin, plum, grapes. Some sweet spices. Not boozy at all for the alcohol content. Good.

Bottle thanks to someone! Pours a cloudy amber brown with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of barrel with sweet grains and a bit of booze. Flavor has a good amount of sweet grains with some barrel and a bit caramel.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This poured a rub red color with a beige head. Aroma was of light brandy, some fruit notes, and caramel and toffee malts. Flavor was a little odd, somewhat vegetal, like the brandy tasted like beats, with a standard barleywine underbelly.
