COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This golden colored ale is smooth, light in flavor, and still retains a slight crispness in its finish, very similar to a European-style pilsner. Our Coronado Golden is delicately hopped with Czechoslovakian Saaz hops, traditionally used in making the classic pilsner. It is our most popular beer at our restaurant and considered our gateway beer into the micro-brew world.

This beer poured a light orange / yellow w/ slight head and minor lacing. The aroma was malty and sweet w/ light citrus and flowers. The flavor was the same w/ a definate hint of honey. The mouthfeel was light and carbonated.

Pours a golden yellow hue with a small white head. Aromas of straw, and a little sweetness. Flavors of the same, but with no depth.

On tap @ Coronado. Poured a clear, medium orange color with a small white head. No real aromas and tastes stood out. Maybe some citrus.

Small head thats a bit foamy. I wouldnt say this was pure golden in color but more of a murky yellow/orange(maybe i got a old boittle?) Has a apple sauce taste with bready malt and a bitter palate. I never heard of this beer until today and i see Coranado every day from work. Gonna have to visit the restaurant.

I dunno what’s going on with this stuff but I agree with SDbruboy about this tasting sour. Other than that, not very good. Too light in body and not much flavor. A waste.

On tap at restaurant. (I do have to start by saying that the first pour I had of the beer from the "lobby bar" tasted soured. I took it to the main bar and asked for a taste from their keg and lines. This one was much better, but still I lost confidence in the quality of the pours and line maintenance from this establishment.) Pours clear golden with a small white head that diminished rapidly. Mild hoppy nose, slight sweet malt opening, tart and bitter flavors in the middle and finish. Light body and lively carbonation. Almost lager like in feel and flavors, okay but not great.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2004 (22 oz bottle) Run of the mill golden ale, but while most offerings from Coronado Brewing are sugary sweet, the sweetness seems somewhat under control in this offering and it doesn't seem so disgustingly sugary; It's moderately sweet, with a light, grainy maltiness, slightly spicy, somewhat citrusy, and mildly hoppy; Unfortunately, as the beer warms up from fridge temperature, it becomes a little sugary sweet and thin; The grainy nose is sweeter than the flavor, and is accompanied by a very mild aroma of hops; Light to medium bodied palate and fairly clean until it warms up; Pale yellow in color and fairly hazy; Off-white head is on the small size during the pour, and fades to almost nothing quite soon; No lacing to speak of; Not bad, easy to drink, but not something I'd buy again
