COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This golden colored ale is smooth, light in flavor, and still retains a slight crispness in its finish, very similar to a European-style pilsner. Our Coronado Golden is delicately hopped with Czechoslovakian Saaz hops, traditionally used in making the classic pilsner. It is our most popular beer at our restaurant and considered our gateway beer into the micro-brew world.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt, grass, straw, fruits and hops.

On tap @ the brewpub on Coronado Island. More of a light amber than gold. Grainy aroma and flavour, light orchard fruit. Not bad, but I wouldn’t have pegged the hop profile as Saaz.

Hazy orange yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is bland, with some mild hop buzz and a small hint of citrus. Taste is generic with a bit of hop bitterness and not much else.

Clear, golden pour with a white head. The aroma is clean and light. It has a light body, thin texture, and lively carbonation. Mildly bitter taste with a quick finish. This makes for a good warm weather beer.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2012 Buttery, thin, totally uninteresting. It is hilarious that they can brew this stuff and people will willingly drink it. Im happy I only got a 5 oz sample. I dk how they call it their most popular, everyone was ordering Idiot, literally everyone.

on tap at the hotel del coronado pours a clear amber hue with a small white head that is mostly diminishing aroma of aged wood, yeast and barley flavor is crisp, a tad hoppy but pretty refreshing especially with its pilsner taste medium mouthfeel with light carbonation definitely not as bad as i thought it was going to be

On tap at the Brew Pub. Hazy yellow with fluffy white head. Aroma yeasty with a hint of banana and perhaps citrus. Bright and lively palate. Taste is a little too weak and watery, but there are some notes of fruit and a little spice with a clean finish.

Pours a golden yellow color with aroma of light hops. Taste is very light, and crisp. This beer is very easy drinking, nice for a hot summer day. Nothing complex, just a simple golden ale.

Bottle from Tap East, at home. Pours a slightly cloudy golden yellow with a small but carbonated off-white head. A light dry hoppy maltiness and a hint of cream soda is apparent in the aroma. Dull in the mouth with the merest touch of astringency around the edge of the tongue. There’s a rubbery malty taste that dries into a hint of creamy vanilla before that mild rubberyness emerges again. Has some pleasant touches but let down by a pervading harshness.
