Kind of a cloudy golden color with some good spices. Taste is pretty dry like a pilsener. Really, I liked this much more than their Red and was pretty pleased overall with it.

Bottle. This was an interesting beer. Definitely Golden Ale in the aroma and the finish, but much of the flavor smacked of fruit beer. Poured a clear, yellow-gold with a minimal white head. Sweet, malty aroma with honey and citrus notes. Flavor is mildly sweet, and immediately I got notes of black raspberry, then some apricot and lemon, and just the faintest of hops to end things. Finish also included some honey and malty sweetness. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Really a good beer. Very enjoyable.

On tap at the brewpub. Nice grain profile gives this a lot more flavor than I was expecting. A touch of peppery herbs and spice. Nice gateway beer for these guys with a much bigger presence for a beer of this style.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2004 Rerate from bottle (06/26/04): From the bottle, this beer was a bit more impressive to me. I picked up a more interesting hop profile, especially on the finish. I definetely think this deserves higher than a 2.9 from me. (Original Rating): A very "typical" american style beer. Pale amber color with a very small head. Aroma and flavor is yeasty and metallic. Body is thin and finish is dry and short.

Tap at Eureka! Rating #83. Clear golden pour with a decent white head that left some nice lacing. Light hoppy aroma a little biscuity. Big hop flavor, real nice balance between bitter and the malts, nice beer. (1785)
