22oz. Bomber. Pours a coppery orange with a small layer of white bubbles. Definitely a big west coast IIPA with a nose of solid pine needles. Flavor is all about the hops with a big pine flavor hitting hard early followed by a sharp, dry and grapefruity bitterness. Carbonation is lively and the texture is oily and resinous like most beers in this style. The bitterness just sits on the tongue and lingers. This reminds me of the early IIPAs with pine dominating and the bitterness being a bit too harsh and unbalanced. While still enjoyable, I tend to prefer beers in this style with a bigger citrus nose and more hop flavor to accompany the bitterness. Not bad, but considering the plethora of outstanding beers in this category, Iím not sure Iíd pick this one up again.

Sampled on draft at Smokiní Joes in Pittsburgh PA this beer poured a medium golden color with a large white head that faded quickly. The aroma was sweet fruit and pine. The flavor was bitter, tart and tangy with strong fruity and floral hops and moderate notes of pine and grapefruit. Aggressively hopped but with a nice sweet malt backbone that held it up very well and had undertones of caramel and pepper. The finish was long, bitter and hoppy. Fairly full bodied. Very nice.

On tap at pins in media... Orange in color, good head. Taste is just a bitter tounge bruiser.... Classic west coast hoppiness. Piney, citrus, bitter, but well balanced and easy to drink. Medium texture easy to drink. Nice DIPA that I wish i had more of...

Bomber. Day two of my apparent need to overdose on DIPAs. Pour is aromatic, with a dense honey-caramel body, and lots of lively bubbles contributing to a thin, but lasting head. The nose is long on pine, malt, and just a touch of allspice. Taste is solidly pine at the start, followed by a malt crescendo, finished out by a return to pine needles and bitter earth. Solid flavor, well-balanced. Even, consistent palate. A touch too sweet at the finish, as the caramel kicks in and takes over, which is my biggest beef with the style as opposed to a good IPA. Just let it be the bitter hopfest that it is... donít sweeten it at the end in such a syrupy fashion... oh well. Still a very good effort from a brewery that doesnít often impress me.

Bottle. Amber brown pour with some light tan head. Sweet pine, grassy herbal and grapefruit aroma. Flavor is likewise with a bit of malt background, ends a bit warm and perhaps a bit light on the carbonation.

Draught @ 1702, Tempe, AZ: Pale amber yellow pour with a foamy white head. Strong floral hoppy aroma. Taste is quite bitter and spicy, but bright and easy to drink. Noticeable lack of discernible single hop flavours, I see now itís due to the fact they use so many. Itís an interesting IPA for sure.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at CAH. Pours hazy dark straw with off-white head and some sediment. Nose is huge piney fruity hops, with tangerine, malt, and peppery notes. Tastes rich, gigantic in IBUs, with heavy resiny hoppy notes, black peppery, and tangerine/honeydew, and pineapple. This one is delicious.
