4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Clear orange with a white head.
Aroma is very nice. Floral, mild bitterness, sweet tropical fruits. Very nice aroma. There is actually a pretty intense caramel, sugar thing going on too.
Taste starts nicely bitter and slides into a more balanced sweet malty flavor. It ends with a nice lasting bitter aftertaste that stays for a while (hey, Get Your Gun).
Overall, a great beer! Nicely balanced between the bitter hop profile and an interesting sweet, sugary, malt presence.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Iron Abbey in Horsham, PA. I may be biased since my girlfriend was born and raised in Coronado, but they are pumping out a solid product here. Great blend of hops and on the more drinkable side of beers this big.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
650ml bottle. Pours a clear medium gold, with a large off-white head, which lasts fairly well and leaves decent lacing. Fruity hops notes of grapefruit, mango and pineapple mix with pine needles and caramel and white bread malt in the aroma. Powerful grapefruit hops up front segue into fruitier tropical flavours of pineapple and mango, with a touch of kiwifruit leading into the mid-palate. Supple salted caramel malt in the mid-palate provides some backing to the hops. Melon and mango hops come in at the finish, leaving a lingering mango aftertaste. The range and depth of tropical hops flavours in this beer is very enjoyable, and there is just enough malt backing to sustain them, making for a classy imperial IPA.

bomber into a snifter
Straw gold color, really a white collar for head. Not a lot of visible carbonation.
Smelt aroma a few feet away from glass. Very nice. Pine, passionfruit, Grapefruit, and some paw paw. Big forward nose.
Big, aggressive and bitter. Lots of pine and grapefruit. Flashes of sweetness in the taste but this is about aggressive hops.
Oily, somewhat heavy feel, with an olily dry finish.. Some prickly carbonation here and there. Not a big malt backbone but this is a SD IPA so who needs it when you get crushed by hops. Winner
