2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at SAVOR 2011. Served in a SAVOR goblet.
Pours a clear peach color with an average white head and some spotty lacing on the way down. The nose carries a bit of grain along with a fairly-pronounced citrus character. There’s also a bit of booze in the background. The flavor has too much grain, but does bring a decent amount of citrus. The body is medium with a bitter, dry finish. Still, too much booze. Okay, but needs to mellow it on the alcohol factor.

Copper color with minimal head. Sharp hop aroma of resin and citrus. Caramel malt on the palate with pleasantly balanced hoppiness.

bottle-pours orange with a fluffy soapy white head. tropical nose-papaya, pineapple, mango. flavors of sweet hops really floral and lite flavors for a double IPA. very nice lacing going on in the glass. however, there is a green onion thing that goes on after the beer warms a bit. gets to be somewhat annoying. could be really great with some better hop combinations. it has a good base, just needs a tweeking of the hop bill.

Hop overload. Bitter, citrus. Cascade is prominent. Unbalanced even for a double ipa, but still enjoyable.

citrus, golden, hazy, minimal head, medium sweetnessmedium bitterness, light body, lively, long finish,
On tap at Hungry Monk in Chandler Arizona. Had a beer sampler and this was the best of the 4. Standard IPA bitterness that lasts a while. This beer is unfiltered which gives it a hazy appearance, not quite as cloudy as a hefe but it was kind of neat.

The hoppiness in this incredulous little IPA has some hardbark on its body. Ripped with hops, your cerebral cortex will likely feel like a steel pipe has wrapped around it after roughly four sips from the barrel of this bottle. This IPA is at the top of the pyramid with Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich as being one of the best India Pale Ales to scrape the surface of your poor liquid receptacle you call a tongue. Pinch your nose and dive into this guy. Not for the casual beer drinker.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy straw pour with a medium sized white frothy head. Lots of grapefruit and grassy herbals in the nose with a caramel biscuit malt profile. The flavor holds more herbas with some nectar fruit, and an overly dominating malt character. The palate is medium bodied with low effervescence.

Review # 2000, what better beer to have than one that’s name, Idiot, perfectly describes me for really ticking this many beers... clear dark orange with a big tope head, a finger cap forms for quite a while, great lacing... the nose is super malty, sugar cookie, toffee, pine and lemons, the malt is the backbone of this, smells good but no like a typical dipa... the malt at first shows on the taste for a second, but then you are hit with lemons and bitter pine, too much lemon, then the malt comes back on the finish, the malt build is unbalanced, the lemon is pledge like and chemical... an off west coast dipa that I would pass on again

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The aroma is very inciting with lots of malt and yeast and even more citrus, pine, and grassy hops. The appearance is amber gold with a huge foamy head. The taste is like the aroma but way to astringently bitter. The palate is right for the style. Overall one of those great smelling beers that just doesn’t have the taste to match.

Pours a clear amber color with a white soapy head. Aroma of lemon zest, pine, and caramel. Solid hop bitter flavor with some citrus and caramel sweetness. This one has a presence!
