nuts and toffee aroma, very rich;--
sweet-ish, bitter-ish, sour-ish; --
full bodied, a bit creamy and thick, good but not overbearing carbonation, slightly astringent and bitter finish; --
Really substantial, lots of flavour and big nose

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Hashigo Zake. Huge hop aroma swirling with different aroma. Taste was a massive hit of hop flavour, citrus, floral, spicy with malt and alcohol thankfully showing through. Chewy and resiny in the mouth. A good IPA for the end of the evening but beware your taste buds will be annihilated by this brew so don’t resort to it early on.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 ounce from Tops Tempe, packed in luggage and flown home. Dark orange with ring. Fruity hops graham crackers and pine aroma. Biscuits raw honey fruity orange syrup with bitter piny lingering hop finish and some alcohol. Mouth punishing lingering pine tar. Thick body. Tastes and feels stronger than it is, which is a problem IMHO.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Very nice floral and citrus aroma. Small head, decent carbonation. Taste is fairly balanced between malts and citrus hops. Nice beer, definitely a bit sharper than the Islander.

This is indeed a beer for idiots. An unimaginative brew, very bitter but one dimensional. Boring.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle poured a bright orange amber in color with a covering of white head. aroma has sweetness, pine resins, light citrus, and a bit of alcohol. mouth feel is medium with low end carbonation. flavor picks up bitterness, pines, caramel sweetness, and some citrus. perhaps not the freshest bottle but the flavors are still nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Dark gold in colour with medium carbonation and quite a few floaties. Fantastic fresh hop aroma with elements of white grapefruit, cut grass, meyer lemon, gooseberry, and pine. Still pleanty hoppy and citrus-like in the mouth, but with an added clean pale malt component. Firm bitterness, and the malts are slightly chewier than expected. Very drinkable for the alcohol content. Very nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Huge thick creamy head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Hazy golden color. Aroma of grapefruit, apricot, floral, grass, caramel, grain. Over the palate came almost herbal, grapefruit, sweet fruit mix. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and dry texture. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor. Lingering dry bitter finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle. Clear light amber gold with a khaki colored, creamy dense head. Fruity aroma of citrus and tropical fruit with some sugary caramel and flowers. Sweet caramel malt flavors with a medium hop bitterness, alcohol is well hidden. Medium body with average carbonation and a smooth, sweet mouth feel. Great IPAx2, bit on the sweet side for me but not too bad.

Hmmm...really want to like this, but 25% of the bomber is full of chunky yeast...maybe it was the handling (bought cold, shipped in luggage back to CO, and chilled again?). Unfiltered beers are cool, but....docked the Appearance and Overall ratings accordingly. Great beer otherwise. The bitterest of a half dozen selection of top SD brews. Terrific floral aromas, pretty golden orange, full bodied IPA with crisp grapefruit and caraway finish. Would love to try on tap sometime.
