3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2008 Pours a nice, burnt orange color with a huge white, sticky, somewhat frothy head, that laces the glass all the way down. Smells hoppy and grassy, somewhat sweet. Tastes thick and syrupy hoppy and grassy, slight earthy. There is a lingering solid bitterness factor. Had this fresh for the second time, much better, less nutty. Thickish, somewhat subdued carbonation for having such a big head on it. A bit bitter, not that bitter though. Decent IPA, I wouldn’t necessarily peg it as a West Coast IPA though, not bitter enough. Too thick and not enough carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle from Bu11zeye. The cap pops off quickly and with a sharp, loud bang, as I’m rushing to get a glass expecting the worst., when nothing really happens. Into the glass with a careful pour and we see the cause - a rapidly growing white head of pillowy, sticky cotton-candy foam. Stick your nose in and you get a big whiff of brewers yeast, but let it settle out and fall down into the beer and you get a really wonderful bouquet of pineapple, pine sap, sweet lemon zest, and cedar wood, with a clean, inposing but complimentary malt bit - biscuity, crisp, simple - the way it should be. Frothy, resinous, sticky honey, lemon and cedar hop oils coat the tongue, and it finishes with a frothy sea-foam sweet lemonhead and orange candy note. Overall a really decent IPA.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2008 There are a surprisingly large amount of beers with "Idiot" in the name in the database here at ratebeer. Anyway, this was sampled at stevofest, and I can’t remember who brought it. But I did really enjoy this one. very piney, with some grapefruit, as well. Just enough malt to keep it interesting.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at Stevofest 08. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Aroma of grapefruit rind. Flavor of toffee pale malts countered by a west coast hoppy middle, which is citrusy with some subtle herbal-mintiness. Bitterness carrries to the long hoppy finish. Nice beer

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at stevo’s. Pours cloudy gold=orange with ivory head. The aroma is very piney. Flavor is straight grapefruit juice with a little bit of sweet grainy malt and some various other citrus. Not bad.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
[960-20071212] 500mL (c/o blankboy, w/ him, GregClow, HogTownHarry, jerc, tupalev). Bitter grassy hops aroma has slight cardboard tropical fruit characteristics and a hint of chocolate. Slightly hazy, orange red body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter doughy yeast hops flavour has strong bread notes and fresh grassy wood. Medium body seems multi-layered. Really interesting, but strange yeast.
Label assurance: "Reduces even the most intelligent to a blithering idiot."

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lots of fruit in this pretty wet hoppy beer. Some forest in there, tree, sap, pine. Crazy bite at the end but doesn’t linger in a bad way.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Dirty cloudy caramel, quite muddy, large foamy off-white head, good retention, sticky lacing.   Hop, pine, and sweet
citrusy notes on the nose.   Decent malt base, floral on the tongue, soft hop bitterness, as well as citrus rind sweetness.   Pretty
tasty, but I would consider this one a 1¾ IPA.   Good, but not heavy or thick enough for what I consider an IIPA.   This one is
actually better than I expected, looks great, smells great, and tastes fairly good.   Not overly done in regards to the hops, but could
stand to be a tad thicker in regards to malts.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Finishes with a good citrus sweetness,
coupled with hop bitterness.   I enjoyed this one more than I expected to.   Thanks Larry for this one!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by artusory. Hazy copper body, medium cream/off-white head. Piney, rindy hops nose, bitter, pulpy but not too sweet. Big tangerine. Sugared tangerine body, very bitter, with an astringent finish. I’ve never sampled a beer with so much tangerine. The bitterness becomes astringent and overbearing over time.
