COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with 8 different hops and dry hopped with whole cone Cascades. Its more powerful than our Islander IPA and even the most intelligent have become "idiot" after a few pints of this super hopped up beer!

Fresh 650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a big sudsy white head that has good retention and left plenty of lacing. The aroma is strong with hoppy pine, fresh cut pine and citrus. The flavor blasts you with a big dose of biter hops set in a pine-caramel backdrop and is rounded out by biter citrus. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is medium in duration and bittersweet. Overall: This is an IPA drinkers IPA (hence its name) this is not a beer for the uninitiated novice. Good tasty stuff!

This Imperial IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Once a major foam over problem was dealt with the beer settles down to have a medium sized white foamy head with nice retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet with lots of grapefruity and piney hops. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are piney, grapefruity and citrusy. Nice balance. Very drinkable Imperial IPA. Lively carbonation. Nice balance, there is enough malt sweetness to counter the hop bitterness. Hides the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.

22oz. Nice aroma, kind of "green", like grass maybe or a freashly picked leaf. Medium yellow color, nice white head. Big initial hop flavor that sticks to your tongue,( I like it).Pretty good IPA.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 botte, at carolina crew get together, provided by afatty. Ok aroma, sweet, citrus, orange, a papery streak, hints of toffee. Pale golden orange color, big head and lacing. Bitter flavor, more of a grapefruit/lemon citrus. Lite creamy mouthfeel bitter sweet finish. Eh, didn’t do much to exciteme neither aroma or flavor had a strong point for me, just average ipa.

Shared by afatty at the Carolina Crew gathering. Thanks Glenn. Pours a glowing orange amber with a thick white head. Pretty nice fruity, piney, and grassy hop aroma. Flavor is bitter and fruity with a malty, spicy, and slightly bitter finish. Pretty good double ipa, but doesn’t stand out amongst its peers to much.

Thanks to glenn for sharing at the Carolina Gathering. Pours a copper gold with a thick creamy white. The nose is very fresh, citrusy, very hoppy, extremely fruity and fresh, grapefruit and orange. The flavor is waxy and citrusy, grapefruit peel, ends up being a tad off. The palate is waxy and bitter. Ends up being decent but could have been better.

Wonderful long-lasting head that you could rest a dime on. They nailed the west-coast-style, palate and flavour. Tasty, smooth and so mellow. Wow, the balance between the malt backbone and bitterness is nicely done. If you want a gigantic hop presence then this is not for you. A bit of a contradictory statement, but I actually prefer my IIPA’s with more balance and not a singular over-the-top hop "punch" to the nose.

Thanks to David for bringing of the bomber. Poured a pale-ish medium golden with a tall, fluffy, sticky cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up soft, dusty grapefruit sweetness with pine and grassy hoppage around.. I got more malt than hops. The flavor had sweet grapefruit and grainy paler malts supporting moderate + grapefruit and pine bitterness.. finished warm, spicy, and bitter.. tasty. Creamy, heavier carbonation on the palate with a drier, almost stale feel.. juicy at the end.. I dug this by the end.

Orangey-amber colour. Mango, simcoe nose with yuzu and chewy malts. Strong, but with a sweet hop fruitiness. Very bright. Lots of citrus and tropical fruit flavours. Very bitter finish with woody hints of alcohol and light crystal malt chewiness. Suprisingly did not leave any lace on my glass.

On tap at Coronado Brewery--Light amber/orange body indicative of San Diego IPA style. Small, wispy, swirly white head. Simcoe and Summit hops really come out in the nose. Oniony sweet. Mildly cloying up front on the tongue. Finished smooth.
