Bottle: Big sweet orange aroma that almost smells like orange juice along with some mild grapefruit hops. It pours a slightly hazy orange with a small white head. The flavor starts with moderate caramel and oranges. Light grapefruit hops sneak into the finish. One of the most malty IIPA’s I’ve ever had.
mmm///beer (521), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 14, 2008 22 oz. bottle in trade from Snojerk321- served in tulip- poured cloudy darken orange, medium carbonation, white ring around the glass for a head. Aroma of grapefruit, floral, and hops from the seventh layer of hell.. Hits the mouth with a defined medium body, malt is very detectable, sweetness and hop holy hellness come in the middle, hops close out on the finish. Not a hopbomb, they seem to have mellowed a bit, but just a very small notch below awesome! Vac (2231), San Diego, California, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours with an amber-orange body topped by a medium thick, white head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a grapefruity hop note, floral notes and some alcohol esters. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated. carl4beer (249), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA Aug 9, 2008 22 oz. pours hazey and golden with a small white head. aroma is very hop with pineapple and citrus. mouthful is a bitter hop with a lingering bitter finish. i did not find a malt balance... alexsdad06 (618), Ohio, USA Aug 9, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy orange color with a large creamy white head that lasts and provides good lacing. The aroma is citrus, floral, and piney hops, orange peel, caramel malt, and vanilla. The flavor shows much the same as the aroma with a slight medicinal/chemical quality. The citrus, floral, and stronger dose of pine are present and work with the moderately sweet malt. Decent, but I like some of the other west coast IPA/IIPA better. Taverner (432), San Ramon, California, USA Jul 31, 2008 Different IPA altogether. Pours copper with white head, aroma is biscuit and some toned down aromatic hops. There’s a bitter bite, but no floral bouquet, no dank skunky note, nothing but just a general biscuit flavor. Nose has some grassy hops but ends on an almost salty note.
