Named after Coronado Island, our original India Pale Ale is a liquid expression of hometown pride. Cascade, Chinook, and Columbus hops combine to provide an explosive burst of piney bitterness and lucioius notes of apricot, grapefruit, and mango that are sure to envoke imagery of swinging palms and sun-kissed shores.

It has the look & aroma but the taste just falls flat for me. The aroma has an awesome blend of hops the doesn’t quite shine through in the taste. It leaves your palate kind of bland & is a little thin. Decent beer but somewhat disappointing.

This ’tropical’ IPA was all pineapple to me...and I love pineapple. Bring on the Hula girls!

Bottle. Orange-amber with a short, foamy white head. Lots of pine and citrus in the nose along with floral hops, caramel and malt. Taste is pine, citrus, tropical fruit, apricot, caramel and soft malt notes. Body is medium-full and resinous with a strong, frothy carbonation. Ends with more tropical fruit, citrus notes, pine, hop resins, caramel and toasted malt.

12 oz bottle. Tasted on 6/24/14. Beer from Total Wine Tampa, FL. The aroma has more of a floral note more east coast than west coast with very little fruitiness. The beer isn't too sweet but has a strong malt backbone with a dry finish. More of an English style ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ar: Big pineapple and mango - some orange juice, a little lemon and pine. Ap: Pale orange with a medium off-white head - clear - moderate retention, leaves a bit of foam on glass sides, a ring of suds, and a thin, almost complete cover. T: Pineapple and bitter tea leaf - lemon and orange - some clean malt, very little sweetness - high bitterness with a soft edge - finish is pine and lemon. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation - finish is dry. O: Pretty good IPA - the bitter tea leaf quality is the only downside - otherwise, lots of great tropical fruit, citrus, and pine flavors and a supporting, but not obscuring, malt backbone.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique 120513. Bright orange colour with a decent white head and big punchy floral hop aromas. Great taste and easy drinking.

Beautiful golden/orange pour under a light tan head. Crisp, nicely hoppy flavor, medium texture. On tap at Viva’s.

(35 cl bottle from local supermarket; bbd: May 30th 2014 allegedly; consumed in August 2013) Pours a delightfully clear, golden with ample, creamy white head that sadly fades leaving a thin layer on the surface and some decent lacework. Some regeneration comes from swirling the liquidmin the glass. Initial aroma has a quick and quite pleasant hop burst aroma of fresh, citrus hops. Unfortunately, this fades rather quickly - presumably, due to the age of the beer - leaving a somewhat more subdued and earthy expression with malty hints of biscuits. Medium to light bodied despite the 7% abv, soft carbonation, somewhat watery texture and a bitter finish. Flavour is moderately bitter with little sweetness in the west coast style, which I find appealing even if the bitterness could perhaps have been somewhat more appealing (it properly is when fresh).
