3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ungstrup (23961) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 25, 2007
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2010 Bottled. A hazy orange beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet and super hoppy combined with notes of grapefruit - the aroma a bit cloying. The flavor is sweet spicy - especially coriander, combined with strong notes of grapefruit. I find the body a bit on the thin side.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 merlin48 (656) - New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA - MAR 9, 2007
22 oz bomber pours a clear pumpkin orange body with a two finger offwhite head. Good retention with island chain lacing. Aroma is all hops-grapefruit, pine, and cut grass. Medium body and carbonation with a hops bite. Taste is dry and bitter, very hoppy. No hint of sweetness or malt presence. Nicely drinkable and a solid westcoast IPA, but a bit bitter for my preference.

bottle. hazy copper with thick off white head. malty aroma with weak citrus and earthy hops. citrus is very strange in this beer and it trumps the caramel malts and piney hops. not so good.
