COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after Coronado Island, our original India Pale Ale is a liquid expression of hometown pride. Cascade, Chinook, and Columbus hops combine to provide an explosive burst of piney bitterness and lucioius notes of apricot, grapefruit, and mango that are sure to envoke imagery of swinging palms and sun-kissed shores.

355 ml bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori.
Pours clear golden color with a large head. Crisp and fruity aroma, some pine, resin and sweet hops too. Mandarin on the flavor, resinous hops, gooseberries and caramel. Oily slick palate, bitter finish. Refreshing and tasty.

Bottle from a friend. A nice, bright IPA. Deducted points from appearance because it looks the same as any mega-beer.Good aroma of pine and citrus. Taste was refreshing but a little muddy.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (resin, grass, grapefruit, lemon), moderately yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Kind of Sierra Nevada styled insomuch as the strong raw yeast aroma goes...very weird that large, professional breweries can’t fix this problem (seriously the vitamin B stink is as strong as the hops). Very resinous, grassy, raw hops too. Not much fun to sniff. Good flavor balance, though...neither too sweet nor too bitter or citric. Overall mediocre.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Mild citrus aromas. The taste follows suit. More mild than the Idiot. Good body and mouthfeel.

little disappointed with this one, had all my favourite hops, cascade, chinook and columbus but didn’t quite do it for me, still good though

Still yet another 12 oz. bottle purchased at The Beer Store, Nashua NH. Clear amber / orange color, some light head. Aroma is mild tropical fruit and sweet malt.

This could be a victim of sitting to long or taking too long in transit. Another example of why IPA’s should be draft only for me unless it is local. Silly me… Mild tropical fruit, weak citrus with a large amount of sweet bread and caramel. Not much hop punch. Thinner body, standard Co2. If I ever see this on draft I will re-rate it. My impression is it feels like it is a shell of its former self.

Tasted at Willow Park Beer Bash 2014. Unfortunately, there was no time for detailed notes - and I only made it through half my list even so!
