Named after Coronado Island, our original India Pale Ale is a liquid expression of hometown pride. Cascade, Chinook, and Columbus hops combine to provide an explosive burst of piney bitterness and lucioius notes of apricot, grapefruit, and mango that are sure to envoke imagery of swinging palms and sun-kissed shores.

Bottle at home. Clear golden orange, decent white head that fades to a thin layer of bubbles. Orange peel, pineapple nose. Caramel malt front with a big lemony/peppery, herbal bitter linger that stays for a while. Nice IPA.

A nice, surprising IPA. Pours orange with a white-ish head. Nose is some orange, apricot, peach, grass, and slight pine with a hint of floral. Flavor is similar with a healthy dose of malt for support. Light to medium in body and a rival with Jai Alai for my everyday IPA.

Bottle in NZ at The Hope Garden (Wellington). A more mellow West Coast IPA - could there be such a thing?!

tap at brewpub-pours bright orange with a very small white head around the rim of the glass-mostly tropical nose with tones of tangerines, tropical melons and lite catty note. flavors are very well balanced between citric tropical passionfruit with a hugely resinous finish. very drastic difference but it works here-its almost palate wrecking. very tasty! i dig it!

Appearance: pours clear orange with a touch of chill haze. Gorgeous pithy head is clumpy, lacey, wispy, bubbly, and thick. Swirls thicker.
Nose: orange, mandarin, mango, and lemon. Dew-dropped flower petals and green grass. Zip and zest. Floral esters in the back.
Palate: chewy and meaty with orange, mango, and honey up front. Dry finish of citrus skin and inner pith. Chewing on green grass heavy with morning dew. Pith parches while skins bitter and thirst ensues. Floral esters lightly tinge the breath.
Final Thoughts: simply good and straight to the hoppy point – pith, skin, resin, oils, zest, grass, dew.

Bottle from my new favorite craft beer bottle shop, Beer Heaven, in Philly. Deep amber pour with a tall dusky tan head and medium lacing. No mistaking the West Coast origins of this baby with a blast of floral, citrus and pine notes in the aroma. Plenty of grapefruit and a touch of toffee and vanilla with a hefty toasted malt backbone. Silky texture and a quick dry finish with a light hint of white pepper at the end. Not quite a world class West Coast IPA like their Idiot IPA but only an idiot could find anything wrong with it. Glad I picked it up.
