3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2013 Sample at the 2012 Cincinnati Brew-haha. Clear orange/amber color, off-white head, little lace. Sweet, kinda syrupy. Lighter carbonation, drier texture. Enjoyable and tasty. 6 / 3 / 7 / 4 / 14
Re-rate, 1/20/13: 12oz bottle, split with Jay. Wow, this bottle is an embarrasingly blatant rip-off of Stone’s. It’s different from the old paper label, it’s a green printed-on label.. The fact that they are both from the same town makes it even ballsier. No date on the bottle found. Mostly clear amber - orange color. Good thin white head, some lace. Orange citrus and grass-clippings in the nose, some odd earthiness. Little zest, light bitter, mostly sweet. Medium / bigger body, light, smooth carbonation. Sweet caramel malts, slightly sticky fjnish. Not very good. Only got worse and worse as I went. For something that seems to aspire to be a Stone knock-off, this totally misses the mark

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
I had a few of these on a recent trip to Florida. It’s hazy amber. A very hoppy nose. The flavor is on the sweet malt side with a good dose of hops in the finish. I find the flavors kind of "muddy" but a generally good beer.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Erupted from the bottle, but quickly settled. The beer is light yellow-ish amber with a frothy head. The aroma is clearly defined by the hops, but has an odd character -- somehow medicinal, in a children’s elixir kinda way. That sticks with me as I drink -- the hoppiness coming across in a less than idyllic manner, a mixture of over-ripe banana, pineapple, and wet grass. (#4422, 12/29/2011)

12oz bottle pours a murky golden/orange with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet and tart citrus, candy, malt, and slight pine. Taste is of resinous bitter pine, citurs, and tropical fruits, with a balanced malt presence. Alcohol is covered very well, nice!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Kinda tan to orange and slightly hazy, two finger head and ok lace. Very piney and grapefruit-ey on the nose. Taste follows, with a massive grapefruit presence, tons of pine and sweet fruity, floral hops. Body is medium, rich and smooth, with a lightly sweet, bitter aftertaste.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, mybrewerytap.com. Great caramel aroma kicks off a very full-bodied and fine American IPA. Big mouthfeel, with resinous pine and tangy orange combining nicely. Packed with flavours, lively on the tongue, the faintest hint of smoke in a big bitter aftertaste. A belter.

On tap at Mad Mex. Lightly hazed amber with an off-white head leaving lacy sheeting. Nose is orange, toffee and some grass. Medium light with a tingle; resiny on the backside. Taste is orange peel, pine and caramel. A solid, tasty IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle from Peace Street Market, Raleigh. It’d been a while since I’d tried this, certainly since before Coronado started distributing to NC, and I was pleasantly surprised at what a solid, sessionable IPA this is. Lustrous orange pour with a medium creamy head. Nose is very fragrant with floral notes, bubblegum, and a hint of bitter pine in the finish. Mouthfeel fairly full and smooth. Flavors are more bitter than the nose, though the sweet fruits are there, with bright tangerine and mango notes. Damn solid brew.
