On tap at Mad Mex. Lightly hazed amber with an off-white head leaving lacy sheeting. Nose is orange, toffee and some grass. Medium light with a tingle; resiny on the backside. Taste is orange peel, pine and caramel. A solid, tasty IPA.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCB (3106) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 9, 2011
12oz bottle from Peace Street Market, Raleigh. It’d been a while since I’d tried this, certainly since before Coronado started distributing to NC, and I was pleasantly surprised at what a solid, sessionable IPA this is. Lustrous orange pour with a medium creamy head. Nose is very fragrant with floral notes, bubblegum, and a hint of bitter pine in the finish. Mouthfeel fairly full and smooth. Flavors are more bitter than the nose, though the sweet fruits are there, with bright tangerine and mango notes. Damn solid brew.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BucannonXC5 (330) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 9, 2011
Poured from a draft into a pint glass at High Dive in San Diego, Calif. Color was light golden pale. Maybe ¾ inches of head. Light lacing on the top. Film on the sides was light and sporadic.
Smelled of sweet floral notes up front. Also some lemon citrus in there. Caramel says, “What’s up?” too.
Sweet citrus up front in the taste, mainly lemon. Bitter comes in there right away, too, though. Lots of floral notes. Bitter ending.
Medium body. Average carbonation. Bitter finish.
Not a bad beer overall. I thought about giving the smell at 4.5, but I kept it at 4.0. I would definitely give it anothergo.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of caramel malts and citrus and pine hops. Flavor is the same with a decent bitter finish from the citrus and pine hops. Slight warming as well.

Bottle from Kris Wines, London. Clear amber pour with a nice white head. Lovely fragrant/citrus hop nose qualities continued on into the taste, which had some balancing sweet malt and superb hop bitterness/tropical fruit notes. Excellent stuff. Could quite contentedly sup this til the bleedin’ cows come home....

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2011 Bottle from Stirchley Wines. Smells great, like a lush meadow. Taste is beautiful, no other word fits. Sweet, piney, resiny, oily, great balance. Wowee.

On tap at Sharp Edge. Big floral and spicy hop aroma with lightly oxidized malty notes. Rich amber, dark orange clear with some haze, topped with white lacing creamy head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Big hop flavor from start to finish, herbal and grassy. Oxidized flavor with big bitterness and mutes nutty sweetness. Spicy finish with lasting bitter after.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Chipalsa (704) - Florida, USA - NOV 10, 2011
The body on this one is a nice and hazy yellow with a subtle fluffy head. Smells bright and hoppy with hints of orange peel. The taste is very dry and bitter, a fresh hop taste with a lingering dried citrus aftertaste. Finishes smooth and malty with a refreshing bitter finish.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BrotherLogic (251) - South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2011
Awesome - bitter and resiny in all the right places. Wish all IPAs were like this (I don’t) but it’s really really good.
