COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after Coronado Island, our original India Pale Ale is a liquid expression of hometown pride. Cascade, Chinook, and Columbus hops combine to provide an explosive burst of piney bitterness and lucioius notes of apricot, grapefruit, and mango that are sure to envoke imagery of swinging palms and sun-kissed shores.

Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Pours a murky light orange with a very slight head. Aroma is sweet in a funky kind of way. Hints of maple syrup and homebrew funkiness. Flavor is slightly muddled with some faint fruitiness, dried apricots come to mind, some nuttiness, and a bit of that over caramelized homebrew-like funkiness. Mouthfeel is sticky. Needs work.

Draft at 1702. Pours clear yellow-gold, medium white head, passable lacing. Nose is VILE!!! Hop confusion reigns supreme, along with misplaced estery sweetness: Yeast, banana, apple, leafy hops.... Flavours of rancid cupcakes and grassy cabbage. Awful.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2011 Aroma is this beers strength. It smells of hops and more hops. It reminds me of when I am making my home-brew and opening up the bags of hops. It smells exactly like that. The appearance is a golden color. The taste is not great, it seems over hopped without much to balance it. I enjoy beers that are very hoppy the most, however; this beer needs a malt backbone to help balance it.

Gold pour. White head. Aroma of apple butter and hops. Flavor is awful. Apples sauteed in butter. Puke.

Tried after their idiot DIPA, and this follows the same path, more malt than expected and the hops added too soon. The alcohol taste really comes out on this one...tastes of an >8%. This could pass as a (weak) DIPA...a bunch of hops in the boil and a lot of malt not fully fermented. Meh.

Tap at Redlight. Light copper pour with a thick creamy head. Big citrus hops, very fresh and pungent. Taste is smooth malt, light touches of caramel and citrus hops. Hops balance the malt perfectly. Great IPA.

Pours mid amber with big notes of hops. The medium IPA then shows some deep spicy bitterness that delves into a nice spice and citrus related finish. It finishes long.

Bottle from Knightly. Coronado is a welomed addition to the Florida craft beer scene for sure. This pours a golden-amber color with a tight lasting white head on top. Fresh citrusy, herbal, and pine aroma. Grapefruit, mango, tangerine seem to stand out. The flavor is more malty than expected showing a sweet doughy, caramel malt. The hops are herbal, grassy, and citrusy but not much pine flavor. Decent hop bitterness that’s fairly crisp on the palate countering the sweet dough. This is pretty solid and drinkable although a touch too malty for my liking.

Satisfying IPA, even drank the bomber meself. Hop aromas, very decent bitterness. Golden colour with nice head.

Orange-gold pour with a fluffy white head that retained a little bit of its mass throughout. Fruity aroma with a nose full of pine needles and grass hops. Grapefruit, pineapple, and orange come to mind. Flavor has a fairly solid malt base, but a big west coast hop bite that brings Green Flash West Coast IPA to mind. Dry, bitter finish. Went great with the rich meal I was eating. Another solid brew from one of the more underrated California brewers.
