COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cbc’s version of the traditional hefeweizen, (a German unfiltered wheat beer.) Made with 50% malted wheat and lightly hopped with German & Czech varieties. The unfiltering creates a cloudy visual appearance and the wheat combined with yeast creates a very refreshing, light-bodied beer taste, with a unique zing. Typically served with a slice of lemon.

Unimpressed. This an American Wheat doing a very bad imitation of a German Hefe. Pours cloudy gold with a good white head. Aroma is all wheat. Flavor is all wheat. I finally submitted and dropped the lemon in halfway through to give it some flavor. No banana, no yeast, no way I’m getting this again.

Draft at brewery in Coronado, CA: No head, chunky brownish orange. Nose if light of wheat and lemon wedge, no esters. The flavor is a bit sweet and fat. The finish is lacking. The body is there, but it doesn’t complement anything. What I said before...

On tap at the brewpub. Not much here. Dark gold, almost amber in color. Cloudy, but not full of yeast. No banana esters to discern. Weak hop aroma. A lousy beer.

On tap @ Coronado. What do you think they did - served it with a lemon slice! Poured a hazy, pale golden color with a small head. Aromas and tastes of Lemon (duh) and lighter spices. Fizzy body.

Light orange, unfiltered appearance. Citrus on the nose and palate with floral overtones. Goes down very smoothly.

Pale clouded amber appearance, decent head. Grainy malt aroma. Sweet bubblegum up front, grainy with a slightly bitter finish. No real spice.

Looks pretty good for a hefe. Large head that dissipated quickly. Spicey and yeasty aroma. Taste is spicey cloves and some banana. Body is a bit watery with a very dry finish.

(tap) I'm not a weizen lover but I didn't particularly like this one even then.
