COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cbc’s version of the traditional hefeweizen, (a German unfiltered wheat beer.) Made with 50% malted wheat and lightly hopped with German & Czech varieties. The unfiltering creates a cloudy visual appearance and the wheat combined with yeast creates a very refreshing, light-bodied beer taste, with a unique zing. Typically served with a slice of lemon.

Draft... RBSG ‘08... Hazy deep yellow ale with a small, fluffy, off-white head. Subtle, lightly citric American wheat aroma... refreshing and tantalizing. Medium-bodied and mildly creamy with dancing carbonation. Adequately bittered and citric. Finishes a bit grainy, a touch tart and then dry. There’s nothing traditional or German about this hefe. Refreshing and very drinkable.

Draft at Manchester Grand Hotel, SD,CA. Poured hazy amber color with an average fizzy white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate banana citrus wheat aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet spicy finish of moderate duration. My expectations where not met.

On tap @ Coronado. What do you think they did - served it with a lemon slice! Poured a hazy, pale golden color with a small head. Aromas and tastes of Lemon (duh) and lighter spices. Fizzy body.

Bomber poured a cloudsy golden amber with a lasting off white head. Aromas of fruiutiness, wheat and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread, wheat, light spice and a faint hint of spice with a crisp slightly dry finish. Drinkable but a far cry from a German Hefe in my opinion.

Draft at brewery in Coronado, CA: No head, chunky brownish orange. Nose if light of wheat and lemon wedge, no esters. The flavor is a bit sweet and fat. The finish is lacking. The body is there, but it doesn’t complement anything. What I said before...

Didn’t really pick up much German Hefe notes in the nose. Mostly wheat, light fruity sweetness, some citrus notes, and an earthy peppery hop presence. Pours cloudy golden orange with a thin head. The flavor starts with wheat and cereal notes then moves in to a light fruity sweetness followed by some quenching crispness and a light earthy peppery bitterness in the finish. Nice quenching brew with lively carbonation. Was looking for a little more yeasty twang and notes akin to a Bavarian Wheat though.

Very cloudy yellow with a fizzy white head. Bready aroma. Slight citrus taste and an overpowering malty/bready taste.
