3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper amber, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts fairly well and leaves decent lacing. Floral and spicy hops, biscuit and roasted malt notes make up the aroma. Peppery, spicy hops up front lead into a touch of caramel malt. Smooth toffee and more robust roasted malt in the mid-palate give it a full-bodied feel, with floral hops joining the sweeter malt flavours in the finish. This is a pleasant ale, with enough robust malt body to support its hops.

On tap at the brewpub. It poured a reddish/amber color with a small white head. The aroma was of toasted malts, grassy hops and some toffee. The taste was similar to the aroma with some hoppiness. Decent.

British style red to me, and in that way good. Hops in finish, very malty and good interplay with orange and malt. Fresh bottle from Zyn’s.

"Big chewy brew. Moderate to high hopping. Caramel and fruit on the nose. Some chocolate malt in the flavor as well. Not a bad brew, though not quite as I was expecting."
