A well-balanced, medium to full-bodied beer, red in color and very flavorful.

I actually thought this was a much better beer than the islander IPA, not sure why this scored so much lower. Pours nice dark red with a white head. Aromas of citrus Cascade hops, crystal malt and roast. Flavor is full and complex with hints of roast and chocolate coming through at the end. Well hopped all the way though with a long clinging finish. One of the best examples of a West Coast American Amber I have ever tasted. Worth the $11.99/6pack price. In stock now at Hops & Vines in Asheville.

Bottled. Tan head is thin and slightly lacy. Deep amber color. Creamy caramel aroma with light toasted malts, some dried apricot, hint of raisins. Hops are slightly floral and resiny, a hint of grass. Round caramel flavor but not sweet, finish is surprisingly toasty, some molasses. Round bitterness, lingering finish. Medium body, smooth and rounded caramel malty texture.

OK Amber with respectable hop bitterness. Absolutely nothing special. Clear Amber color. Average aroma and body.

On tap at the brewpub. It poured a reddish/amber color with a small white head. The aroma was of toasted malts, grassy hops and some toffee. The taste was similar to the aroma with some hoppiness. Decent.

Reddish amber pour. Nose of herbal citrus and pine with big toasted malt and mild dark fruit/raisin. Flavor is herbal pine with more toast, raisin, and mild candied malt. Lingering citrus rind and toast.

British style red to me, and in that way good. Hops in finish, very malty and good interplay with orange and malt. Fresh bottle from Zyn’s.

"Big chewy brew. Moderate to high hopping. Caramel and fruit on the nose. Some chocolate malt in the flavor as well. Not a bad brew, though not quite as I was expecting."

Bottle at home with Samuel. Pours a clear amber with a thick tan head. Flavor is toffee and some caramel with a hoppy backbone. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pours a dark amber with a nice two finger head. Very easy drinking red ale. Caramel notes with nice piney hop flavors. Not bad.
