This So-Cal take on a traditional witbier honors Coronado’s main street, which is home to our brewpub and was once lined with orange trees. Bolstered by orange zest, coriander and orange blossom honey, it’s Belgium by way of Coronado. Expect a refreshing, light-bodied brew rife with citrus zing and a hint of earthy spice.

355ml bottle from Club de Cervezas. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head that diminishes quickly but leaves an irregular film. Aroma is soft with mild flowery and fruity character. Notes of coriander, flowers, aniseed, hints of orange, palm syrup, rhubarb, honey and beetroot. Taste is moderately sweet, dry and a bit spicy. Flavors of orange are offset by spiciness, flowers and hidden bitter tones. Neutral biscuit and bready malts form a solid backbone. Tasty. Crisp and refreshing. High but soft carbonation. I drank this at a perfect time after a heavy work day in the sun... it was a real pleasure.

Average creamy head. Hazy golden color, average carbonation. Tiny lacing. Aroma of herbs, oranges and honey. Later more oranges and caramel. Pleasant delicate aroma. Light sweet and sour. Medium body. Watery. Soft carbonation, short and dry finish. Refreshing but disappointing

Hazy golden yellow pour with small creamy white head. Aroma of wheat, dough, coriander, orange and faint lemon citrus. Taste of wheat, caramel malts, coriander, orange peel and faint lemon zest. Light bodied, medium carbonation, nicely balanced. Refreshing average witbier, nice and solid offering.

Hazy peach color with a small, white head. Aroma is floral with coriander and grains. Taste starts with coriander, chamomile, orange and grains. Body is medium, smooth but well carbonated. Really refreshing but also tasty with nice floral and fruity notes.

Rating #1522 - 18.03.2015 - On tap at Coronado. Hazy yellow pour with a decent white head. Aroma is orange peel, and coriander. Taste is orange and wheat, with a yeasty kick on an otherwise smooth finish. Delicious, lighter than expected witbier, enjoyed on a patio on Orange Ave.
