pours a clear dark brown with a thin tan head, and a little lacing. smell is of coffee, cocoa, and roasted malt. taste is of weak coffee, bakers chocolate, roasted malt, some grain in the back, and a touch of vanilla bean, ends a little bitter, and chalky.

Tap @ Hamilton’s. Poured dark brown with a short, thick off-white head. Moderate lacing. Lighter aroma of coffee, powdered cocoa, toasted malt and barley. Puckering bitter coffee taste up front that is slightly mellowed by a sweet cream and cocoa flavor. Finish is more of the same, but blended with a cereal grain taste. A bit sloshy in the mouthfeel. Easy to drink, though the bitterness weighs on you after a while.

Sample from the brewery. Pours like fresh coffee, dark brown with a thin beige ring. Nose was mostly of fresh coffee with some cocoa dust and toasted malt.
