COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A robust Porter, nearly black in color, with a roast malt flavor from black and chocolate malts. The sharp bitterness from the black malt is balanced with a sweet finish from adequate caramel malt. A full-bodied beer with medium hop bitterness and low hop aroma.

Super coffee onslaught with bittersweet chocolate shadows..venemous hop bites...all coming from complete darkness and creamy creamy tan skies..Outstanding full bodied porter from a brewpub..!! very impressive indeed..

Black, solid frothy head which is brownish. Great taste in the body here. Nuts and chocolate roasted nicely. Powerful and Smooth. A truly decent porter.

On-tap at CBC. Pours clearish brown with a resilient, creamy, light brown head, laces the glass all the way down. Smells roasty malty, slightly smokey and also slightly chocolatey sweet. Tastes rich and roasty sweet malty, slightly smokey, some chocolate notes with a slightly sour finish. Medium, smooth body with nice carbonation.

Wow!Great bottle label design!Aroma was of a good ,inviting roasted malt. The appearance was perfect.Nice frothy head.Black body.I held it up to a strong light and it was still black. The flavor was of smoky, roasted almonds. Some chocolate thrown in.Slightly sour.Palate was somewhat sticky, and could have been better, not bad though. The more I drink the more I taste the astringent that BEERGUY101 mentions. At first taste this was a knockout, then I drank more and and not as happy with it as when I began to drink it.Must have good alcohol content,as Iím already getting a bit buzzed, and am only 1/2 way thru it.Maybe itís the high alcohol content that makes it somewhat astringent.Pretty good porter, but there are better ones. Will buy again.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown to black in color. Brown head. Thick and strong coffee flavor. Pretty close in flavor to the imperial stout served here. Smoother and richer than the stout. is it possible that the server mixed this up with the Imperial? Deliciously rich.

Black color/ tan head. Nice deep roast malt, coffee, pale malt aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Hearty flavors of milk chocolate, dry medium roasted malt, coffee, mild ash--very good--@ Coronado BC.

This beer has alot of god qualities, but there is something I just canít put my finger on to being great. Terrific aroma of dark roasted malt. Deep black in color. Oily and greasy with nice hop kick. A little chalky. Pretty good and close to being great. Thanks to DarkElf.
