Draught at Galbraith’s Alehouse (Auckland, NZ). There was so much going on with this beer it was confronting, confusing, but also delicious. A lot of beer...requiring a lot of attention.

been looking forward to this 650ml bottle I found in Rotorua a couple of weeks ago, poured just about black & lacy with a restrained roasted malty aroma the smooth taste is a fine mix of alcohol caramel bitter coffee hops & sweet chocolate flavours, excellent stout

Tap at craft and draft, amsterdam. Black color, small brown head. Deep roasty nose, some coffee and sweet vanilla notes. Nice balance, coffee, some sweet sugar notes and chocolate.

On tap at Craft&Draft, 2014 version. Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, sugar, toffee, chocolate. Flavour is sweet, toffee, some brown sugar, some metallic notes from all the sugar, lots of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, coffee bitter finish. Medium to full bodied. Nice.

22oz bottle. Opaque brown black body. Thin beige head. Very creamy and mellow at least for the style. Smooth chocolate, maybe a hint of vanilla. Toffee, caramel. Classic. Good.

Bottle - Pours black with a ring of tan head, Nose is dark, roasty malt with a little smoke, ash, and oatmeal. Taste is chocolatey with oatmeal, espresso, and a dark ash malt base. Slick and thick with mellow carbonation.

Bottle. Black bodied with a medium, dense, mocha colored head. Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, cocoa and burnt caramel in the nose. taste is dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee notes, soft floral hops, burnt caramel, light vanilla and cocoa. Body is medium-full with a chewy, dense carbonation. Rather sticky as well. Ends with a touch more vanilla , dark chocolate, roasted malt, burnt malt, burnt caramel, cocoa and faint floral notes.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2015 This looks excellent and smells nice. the initial flavor is quite chewy and tasty but then it gets a little sweet. the sweetness brings it down to just an average beer for me.
