On-tap at the brewery. Listed as Skipper’s Best Bitter. Pours very cloudy burnt orange with a moderate, offwhite head of large bubbles, good lace. Smells full and malty sweet, slight caramel, slight sugar. Tastes a bit on the dry side. Malty and caramelly and sugary sweet. Very nice brew. Fullish body, good carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2009 Rerate at Blue Palms. General impressions were the same, but I liked it a bit less (3.1). Averaged the two, so I dropped it to 3.2 On tap at the brewpub. Color was dirty gold with an off white head. Aroma of earth, Coronado yeast, bread and a hint of fruit. Flavor was bread with earthy bitter finish. A bit watery, but ok. Good for style.

Draft at Hamiltons. Cloudy orange with thick shaving cream head. Subtle aroma of grains with a hint of floral hops and light esters. Flavor is light cereal grains, grassy hop flavor with moderate hop bitterness, finishes dry with some pepper spice. Amazingly smooth texture, a top notch bitter that embodies the drinkability of the style.

Draft at the brewery. Medium golden pour with a 2 finger white head the left a bit of lacing on the glass. Nice nose of cereal grain and light bitterness. Nice bitter finish.
