1 and half year old bottle Pours an opaque brown color with ruby hues. Small-ish beige head, stable & creamy. It leaves a nice film. Aroma is malty, toasted with a lot of wood. Notes of cereal, dark fruits (figs, plums, blueberries), licorice and some leather. Flavor is sweet, malty with notes of molasses, brown sugar, saccharine, sweetened coffee, plums and some sweet red wine. Hell this is cloying. Maybe it’s because of the aging. Alcohol is very present... this has aged too much. Oily texture, low carbonation. The finish is sweet and very alcoholic and it leaves a fruity and dry aftertaste. I’ll try to get my hands on a fresh example.

Bottle: Corsario Negro has an interesting assortment of micros, this porter is an interesting interpretation of the style, full bodied, oily and smoky leaning on the sweet side.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2007 Bottled at Cossab, Buenos Aires Black, creamy head. Rather sweet with plenty of brown sugar to cover the licorice and tar from the roasty malt. Soft but somewhat syrupy. Spicy hops to go with sugar in the finish. Fairly low bitterness.
