3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bov (7364) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - APR 9, 2007

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Panzerfaust (509) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - MAR 29, 2007
Pours an überdark brown color with a medium tan, long lasting head which laces well in the glass.
Aroma of roasted malts, bold and very agreeable. There are notes of chocolate, subdued arabica coffe grains, cask wood and clear hints of prunes, dates under a slight touch of Port Wine.
Nice flavor, sweet with a roasty touch. Strong coffee notes, prunes, sherry, licorice, figs and again Port Wine. Mellow and solid.
The mouthfeel is a letdown sadly. Medium body, juicy texture. Carbonation is too much....fizzy. Without that, this would be a wonderful stout. It makes the beer feel lighter than it is. Reasonable finish with a nice aftertaste of dark fruits. Alcohol present for its ABV. Good but with 1 major flaw.

Year-old bottle.Dark brown color, medium tanned head. Aroma is roated and sweet, strong presence of roasted malts, wood, butter, raspeberry, liquorice, honey and coffee. Flavor is salty, some olvives, coffee; not as complex as the aroma. A bit light for a stout, too carbonated.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2007 Bottled, thanks Fukito! Very dark brown, brief beige head. Aroma of treacle and strawberries. Sweet and caramelly with rounded mouthfeel. Some strawberry esters that simmers on top of the caramelly malt topped by coffee. Lightly salty finish. A powerful punch of caramel, but not the most complex of beers.
