It has a very big head indeed - pour it gently - and a very clean palate, beginning with a dry, lightly citric fruitiness, and finishing with a distinctive and delicate, perfumy, hop character. Very light and fluffy in texture, giving little hint of its strength.

Butelka, warka do 24 04 2017. Jasna barwa, zolto-pomaranczowa, piana dosc obfita, ladna, sredniopecherzykowa, opada srednio szybko i zostaje do konca w postaci cienkiego kozuszka.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2015 Fris rokerige citrus geur. Mooi lang blijvende schuimkraag beetje zeepachtig, met felle zichtbare carbonatie. Prachtig troebelgoud. Heerlijke fris kruidige afdronk. Subliem. Beetje romig.

Golden yellow pour, two finger white head. Good bit of lace. Aroma of citrus, yeast, alcohol, malt. Balanced and goes down smooth. An enjoyable beer but falls short of Chimay white. Still good though.

Robe blonde.

Originally called Corsendonk Agnus Dei and an alias of Du Bocq’s Triple Moine, this tripel has been in existence since 1985 but seems to be different from its original form nowadays so I will re-rate it when I find a new bottle. This rating is based on old notes from years ago. Was a hazy peachy blonde tripel with frothy, cream white head; strong carbonation, dryish taste, restrained pale malt sweetness, yeasty, a bit bready with a slight sourishness, herbal, dry bitterish and yeasty finish. Never liked this much.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£2.49):
This one is another very nice Belgian beer that goes down a treat. The beer is quite fruity and lively with an excellent balance but perhaps falls just short of being a classic, only just though and that’s probably just because some of the other Abbey tripels I’ve tried have set the bar so high. I definitely liked this one more than I thought I would but again sadly it’s probably not one I’d pick up again unless I stumbled across in a bar which is quite unlikely as it stands.

Palate: sweets continue, nice grain malts, light caramel, fruity, lively carbonation, medium body. Overall: very nice Tripel, excellently balanced, nicely complex. Bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a hazy yellow/gold, with a massive, fluffy white head that persists. Nose is faint aroma of Belgian yeast and a slight hop note. Taste is very clean, crisp. Light taste of citrus, with a medium, clean finish. Perfume of hops on the finish. Hides the alcohol well. Delicious abbey ale in the classic Belgian style.

Beautiful pour of dark gold with a huge, billowing white head that leaves fat lacing. Aroma of lemon, sweet malt, and nutty yeast. Very refreshing flavor, with the right amount of hop bitterness. This is a very clean beer, with a light body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and long, mellow finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
