COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Corsendonk Bruin is brewed with roasted malt and is not refermented in the bottle. It is a mellow, dark, top fermented beer, a lively, bubbly beer with a rich head. Corsendonk Bruin is 1% lighter in alcohol than Corsendonk Pater.

Note: A lighter version from Pater brewed only for the HORECA. Not re-fermented.

Bottle thanks to TURDFERGUSON: Poured a dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma was dark fruit and spice. Taste was loaded with dark fruit dates and raisin, with sweet malts.

From tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a clear, deep reddish brown with a big, creamy, off white head. Aroma has lots of toasted, slight roasted malts, caramel, vanilla, light leather and some esters, but not a whole lot of those banana-pear-clove-bubblegum notes. More malty. Taste is surprisingly dry, with only a small lingering sweetness. Toasted notes, and a tiny hint of roasty bitterness, but very simple and drinkable. Fairly high carbonation and a somewhat semifull body.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2016 Pours a dark amber brown with a frothy beige head. Caramel malt and dark fruit aroma. Similar taste caramel malts and raisin fruit, some spice, slightly metallic. Not the depth of flavour you expect with a Belgian dubbel.

Versie 0.75, dec 2014 houdbaarheidsdatum. Smaak is ingemaakte kersen en rozijnen, behoorlijk zoet met scherp randje. Weinig nasmaak, daardoor een waterig gevoel, beetje drop. Aroma is afgeleide van smaak met hout welke net geboend is. Donker bruin met lichte kraag.

Eine erstaunliche Erfahrung habe ich mit diesem Bier gemacht, denn es strotzte nur so von Süße und überreifen Früchten. Mild im Geschmack, hohe Perlung, eine leichte Würze im Hintergrund, dazu ordentlich im hefigen Bereich angesiedelt. Nicht schlecht, aber immer kurz davor, nach fauligen Früchten zu ziehen.
