DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Dec 7, 2008 On tap at Red Light Red Light.Poured a nice brown color with a small tan head. A nice sweet nose of malts and the dark fruits.Flavor was warming with dark fruits.A delicious offering. Beerlando (2283), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 7, 2008 Draft at Redlight Redlight. A clear, dark, crimson colored body is capped with a fleeting, cream colored head. Skinny flares and spots of lacing mark the glass. The aroma shows a bevy of dark fruits, dark raison and dried fig most notably. Sweet caramel, vanilla, and floral hops round out the nose. Flavors show the same, malty, sweet dark fruit elements. Raison plays a major role. Winter spices, such as nutmeg and cardamom, enter the fold. Medium-full and sugary up front, the alcoholic heat forms a distinct dryness on the finish. Not bad, but I was expecting alot more from this winter classic. MrChopin (621), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 6, 2008 07 draft. After the Delirium Noel and I was really into it by that point. Brownish body with a fizzy head. Nose was yeasty and sweet, some wonderful faint hop in the background. The flavor was an earthy combination of the above, a perfect amount of hop rounding everything out. Body is more thin than expected. Overall very nice.
