4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Mahars. This was an amazing beer. Dark, but not too heavy on the palate, had a great belgian beer flavor with a sweet mollasses finish that really stood out, excellent.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Tyler’s in Durham, NC. Clear ruby brown color with thin off white head. Smells of floral hops and anise. Anise comes out again in the flavor along with alcohol and a hint of fresh mint leaves. Alcohol flavor lingers in the nose.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bought in eight pack of 250 ml bottles with Corsendonk Christmas glass. Color is a dark reddish-brown with a tan head that lasts a minute or two. Solid spicy fruit in the nose. Same in the flavor with a good amount sweetness and nice malt character. Reminds me of a bolder version of their Abbey Brown ale.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Huge, offwhite head over clear dark ruby body. Aroma is strong, and cool, full of sweetness, stale hops, coriander, and other spices. Taste is clean and light, initially, but quickly gives way to spices (pepper, cinnamon, and who knows what else), but the mouthfeel is a little watery (possibly because of what I had before this beer). Faintly reminiscent of wine, also has some lingering burntness. Overall a good Belgian.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml corked "champagne" style bottle, packed in metal gift box. Now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). Very dark reddish brown colour, slightly hazy. Moderate tan head. Very nice aroma of Christmas spices, oak, raisins, old sherry, toffee and treacle. Flavour is very malty sweet, plenty of caramel and some spices, hints of smoke, tart/bitter finish. Fizzy mouthfeel - due to the aggressive carbonation and tart finish this beer was not a "silky smooth" experience for me. I actually preferred du Bocq’s Regal Christmas to this one (haven’t tried them side by side, though). R.C. is also somewhat less expensive.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice clear dark brown burgundy color with a large amount of froathy manilla head. Aroma is a little flat: slightly sweet, mellow yeast and spices, raisins, and slight sour orange scent. Flavor is sour, bananna, sour grapes, coriander with a smooth malty finish. Overall, I thought it could have been better.
