Dark ruby color with a large frothy off-white head. The aroma and flavor were very spicy...I can't quite tell which spices though. Nice perfumey tones...clove-like yeast...sweet malt. Pepper and alcohol in the finish. Tingly, yet thick feel. Enjoyable.

Pours a dark amber, big big tan head on top. Arom a is slightly spicy, a bit yeasty, malty. Mostly malt on the flavor, some pepper and nutmeg as well.

Clear red amber color. the aroma doesn't anticipate the flavor. I struggled to get an aroma out of it but the flavor had a lot of interesting things gonig on--perfume, pepper, a hint of mint. It had an average body--frothing life--but an underlying thin composition it seemed. Thanks to TChrome for sharing a 3L bottle! (Sampled at Southern Ratebeer Gathering, Austin, TX, December 6, 2003)

Perkeo (322) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 18, 2003
Brown with ruby highlights, small but creamy lace, aroma of raisins, beef and subtle smoke. Initially smooth, then seems kind of watery, like it needs to be salted for more flavor if you know what I mean, but the aftertaste is nice, blueberry, strawberry and a small puff of smokeyness over some caramel and very light butterscotch. Not real assertive or complex, but pretty good.

Huge light tan head. Aroma of leather, grass, and barnyard. Taste is the same as the aroma but with a underlying spiceyness that contrasts the staginent flavors of barnyard and leather. Very creamy palate.

An 8oz bottle poured with a 4 inch head, the accompanying glass could hardly contain it all. Deep ruby/brown with tan head, great lacing. Aroma was sweet, fresh, spices, malty. I tasted clove, dark fruit, thin malts, smokey campfire, all surrounded by a dry ending. Palate would have felt fuller except for the sharp thin carbonation at the sides of the tongue. Overall, this is very nice, I hope to try it on tap soon.

Bottle. Amber, average head, foamy. Mint and cinnamon spices prominent. Very crisp and pine needley, reminding me more of an IPA than a Belgian. Nice.

A nice medium to dark ruby brown color and a medium light tan head start off this one, which my dealer says he kept cellared for a year. Nose is yeast and spice. Fairly typical for the style. The flavor is surprisingly low in yeastiness. A nice spice to it, and a subtle, but long finish.
