Draft at Redlight Redlight. A clear, dark, crimson colored body is capped with a fleeting, cream colored head. Skinny flares and spots of lacing mark the glass. The aroma shows a bevy of dark fruits, dark raison and dried fig most notably. Sweet caramel, vanilla, and floral hops round out the nose. Flavors show the same, malty, sweet dark fruit elements. Raison plays a major role. Winter spices, such as nutmeg and cardamom, enter the fold. Medium-full and sugary up front, the alcoholic heat forms a distinct dryness on the finish. Not bad, but I was expecting alot more from this winter classic.

07 draft. After the Delirium Noel and I was really into it by that point. Brownish body with a fizzy head. Nose was yeasty and sweet, some wonderful faint hop in the background. The flavor was an earthy combination of the above, a perfect amount of hop rounding everything out. Body is more thin than expected. Overall very nice.

75cl, cellared for a year. Dark ruby brown, small light beige head. Pear fruity nose, little herbs and sugary maltiness. Sweet pear flavor with liquorice, candi sugar, herbs. Flowery hoppy finish. Medium to full bodied, smooth round palate. A bit restrained flavors, a middle weight christmas brew.

The bottle looks good, but a bit kiddy. The beer in the glass is really fine, very dark, nice head. Sweet-malty, modest alcoholic aroma. Tastes not as malty as exspected. Sweet, a bit oily, well balanced warming finish. Good beer!

Bottle. Red/brown colour. Thick golden colour. Smells belgian yeast and candy. Very sweet taste. Crème brûlé, caramel, fruit. Etc. Very smoth. Nice, but almost to inviting, it somewhat lacks in complexity.
