Bottle. Amber / brown pour with a thin off-white head. Very nice aroma of sweet malt, bubblegum, fruit, spices, and brown sugar. Lots of clove and brown sugar maltiness in the flavor. I didn’t expect clove to dominate this one, and it somewhat disappoints me that it does.

750 ml bottle from Bevmo. Clear ruby brown with a fluffy tan head. Spicy cinnamon and clove aroma. Bright palate. Amazing orange and clove taste with a hint of roastiness and chocolate. Quite good.

The pour ids deep brownish, with a touch of red. Medium head with a tan color. The nose is ruled by nuts and complemented with sugar, dark dried fruit, and hints of yeast. The flavor is sweet, nutty, and has hints of other delicate flavors. A really great seasonly brew.

Pours a dark brownish-red with a medium thick head. Aroma has tons of spices, with light hops as well. As it warms up, the dark fruits and nuts show up. The flavor is great... it keeps the spices up front, with a long lasting finish bringing out the darker elements. It reminds me of a spiced-up Rochefort or Trois Pistoles, but crisper and cleaner than either of those. Plus, it really does make me think of christmas, for some reason. A really great beer, I’ll be getting more of this this winter.

Next to the Rochefort Trappist 8 and 10 this is the best belgian dark ale that i have had! pours a dark mahogany with a nice tan 2 finger head! smell is of dark bread, apricots, raisens and figs, taste is the same with low carbonation and a smooth malty finish, wow what a great beer! cant wait till next christmas!

Bottle (75cl) from BevMo. Deep amber in color. Sweet and somewhat spicy aroma. Very fruity smelling. Flavor is very spicy. Dark fruit with a bit of sweet yeastiness. Reminds me of 2006 Trader Joe’s beer. Very dry finish with a hint of bitterness and fruit.

11.2 ounce bottle in Gulden Draak tulip. Dark brownish red with lasting light brown head and lace. Mild chocolate and spicy aroma with some alcohol. Smooth mild chocolate raisin plum flavors with spicy dry finish and some mustiness (why?). Medium body and medium carbonation. Pretty nice but I’m thinking more and more that Belgian dark Christmas beers is not a personal favorite style.

Dark, almost opaque body with a light colored fluffy head. Aroma is subtle with a hint of hops, but mostly malt and a bit of vanilla. Palate was nothing special, although the taste very complex. There is a bit of spice, but interestingly a hint of mint.
