Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 2, 2007 12oz bottle, courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Thank you sir. Pours a ruby red body with a huge, pillowy off white head. Very impressive looking lacing, sheets of it coat the sides of the glass when the head finally decides it’s had enough. Looks phenomenal. Aromas of sour yeast, biscuit dough, malts, dark fruits, sour cherries, citrus peels and cinnamon. Fore is yeast, cherries, raisins, figs, dough and malts. Finish is medium length, sweet and a touch hot, but not bad at all. Palate is sticky sweet, medium to full bodied mouthfeel. A very nice BSA, even in the middle of the Florida summer. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 9, 2007 Draught: Heavily sweet aroma. Smelled like a 1980s airplane bathroom air freshener. Also smelled of black cherries. Poured ruby in color with a medium-sized, rocky, tan head that mostly diminished. Great lacing. Clear. Sweet malty flavor. Tastes of caramel, funk, candy sugar, cherries, and alcohol. Medium body. Oily texture. Soft carbonation. Short malt finish. Overall, I do not need to have this one again. A funky, malty, cherry brew. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jun 27, 2007 I ran across this at a liquor store in late June of all times, but was glad that I did. Poured a beautiful reddish/caramely color with a creamy head. The nose was of dried fruits and citrus notes. On the palate citrus, spice, rasins, and apples come through on a creamy base with a wonderful alcohol backing. charlotte (1997), Vanløse, Denmark Jun 14, 2007 Dark reddish colour with beige head.Aroma of plums and dry fruit also a note of oranges and other spices.Smooth mouth feels even with strong alc.Really nice beer. Dedoulequeen07 (136), london, Greater London, England Jun 10, 2007 Botlle. Enjoyed IN the Kulminator. Dark silky mahongany with a tannish bubbly head. A full blown blast of dark malts, figgy pudding, damson plums, juicy sultanas, puff candy and mollasses. As it slides gently down my throat a wondrous concoction of sweet caramel malts, rich nutty fruit cake and mulled wine with orange clove fills the senses. Full of spice and belgium strong ale character. Gorgeous thick body. Definetley a desert beer for savouring over a log fire. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA May 30, 2007 bottle. color is a nice reddish brown like cherry wood finish. pours with almost no head. Aroma is very belgian, yeasty with sweet dried fruits. spices can be detected but are hard to define. perhaps some clove. taste is rich and earthy with some seriously spicy hops and caramel notes dominate the middle while the finish contains some estery fruit and alcohol. a little unbalanced for me. DruncanVeasey (2695), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England May 28, 2007 De Kuppe, Bruges, New Year’s Eve. Impenetrable ruby pour topped with cappuccino suds. Star-emblazoned glass funnel. Aromas of malt loaf, xmas pudding, bread, wood, liquorice and spice. Probably orange peel and cinnamon. Doesn’t just lace the glass but completely lines it. Sweet, raisiny, malt loaf smoothness with a nibble of liquorice at the end. Not a trace of hops or booze. Murderously silky ale. mlist55 (210), media, Pennsylvania, USA May 25, 2007 Dark brown in colour, with caramel, chocolate and fruit in the aroma. The finish is smooth and is the best part because it stays around for a while.
