Botlle. Enjoyed IN the Kulminator. Dark silky mahongany with a tannish bubbly head. A full blown blast of dark malts, figgy pudding, damson plums, juicy sultanas, puff candy and mollasses. As it slides gently down my throat a wondrous concoction of sweet caramel malts, rich nutty fruit cake and mulled wine with orange clove fills the senses. Full of spice and belgium strong ale character. Gorgeous thick body. Definetley a desert beer for savouring over a log fire.

bottle. color is a nice reddish brown like cherry wood finish. pours with almost no head. Aroma is very belgian, yeasty with sweet dried fruits. spices can be detected but are hard to define. perhaps some clove. taste is rich and earthy with some seriously spicy hops and caramel notes dominate the middle while the finish contains some estery fruit and alcohol. a little unbalanced for me.

De Kuppe, Bruges, New Year’s Eve. Impenetrable ruby pour topped with cappuccino suds. Star-emblazoned glass funnel. Aromas of malt loaf, xmas pudding, bread, wood, liquorice and spice. Probably orange peel and cinnamon. Doesn’t just lace the glass but completely lines it. Sweet, raisiny, malt loaf smoothness with a nibble of liquorice at the end. Not a trace of hops or booze. Murderously silky ale.

Dark brown in colour, with caramel, chocolate and fruit in the aroma. The finish is smooth and is the best part because it stays around for a while.

25 cl bottle courtesy fonefan, best before 22/08/07. Dark mahogany colour with a mostly lasting frothy, creamy, and fizzy tan head. Spicy - cinnamon, anise, maybe soem nutmeg - and curacao orange peel aroma with some phenolic, alcohol, and toffee notes. Toffee, brown sugar, nutty, cinnamon, raisin, orange peel, and light anise flavours with a dry spicy bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, soft but lightly prickly mouthfeel.

Bottle at home. Dark brown colour, tan head. Orange, fruity aroma. Spicy taste, syrupy with prickly finish. Carbonated. Lovely, even on a hot day in May.
