A full blown blast of dark malts, figgy pudding, damson plums, juicy sultanas, puff candy and mollasses. As it slides gently down my throat a wondrous concoction of sweet caramel malts, rich nutty fruit cake and mulled wine with orange clove fills the senses. Full of spice and belgium strong ale character. Gorgeous thick body. Definetley a desert beer for savouring over a log fire. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA

Star-emblazoned glass funnel. Aromas of malt loaf, xmas pudding, bread, wood, liquorice and spice. Probably orange peel and cinnamon. Doesn’t just lace the glass but completely lines it. Sweet, raisiny, malt loaf smoothness with a nibble of liquorice at the end. Not a trace of hops or booze. Murderously silky ale. mlist55 (210), media, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2007 Dark brown in colour, with caramel, chocolate and fruit in the aroma. The finish is smooth and is the best part because it stays around for a while.
