A clear dark red/brown with a decent sized rocky and slightly fizzy head. Aroma is sweet with malt, dark fruit, plum, and caramel. Flavors of spice, cinnamon, dark fruit (raisin and plum), sweet malt, caramel, and a slightly tart finish. A little bit to much carbonation. Quite good.

8.5 oz bottle poured in a tulip glass. This beer smells like rock candy when it’s being made with a touch of metallic overtones. It pours with a clumpy white head with large bubbles. The head lingers. it’s dark brown and very murky. Oh, gee. It’s way too cold. That explains the metallic odor. This beer is very thick and syrupy. It has a plum taste.

Big bottle. Dark red colour with a big long lasting head. Sweet aroma of malts, fruits, hops. Flavour is caramel sweet with roasted malts, spices, raisins and plums, alcohol with a long malty sweetish spiced finish. Great brew, really great!

Pours a dark brown with a very thiin light white head. Smell is of plum, apple, other dark fruits. Dark malts and a little caramel round out the aromas. taste is quite full flavored, really malty, alot of sweet fruits. A little nutty, some cinnamon or brown sugar especially in the aftertaste. Finish is really smooth. Just alot of flavor, it tastes like a Christmas beer. Very good.

#998 - On the final stretch to the thousand mark I’m having some sure-fire hits. Pours dark bronze with a dense tan head with great retention and active carbonation. The aroma has spice, brown sugar, rich toffee, anise, cola, prunes, raisins, caramel and doughy biscuits. Full bodied beer that is lush and creamy with lots of frothy soft carbonation to deliver the taste throughout the mouth. The flavor starts with much of what was on the aroma with the weight going towards toffee, biscuits and anise. The finish has more sharpness with spice and some sourness. Thumbs up for this world class beer.

Bottle. Pours brown/red with a beige head. Aroma is mild, with sweet malts, fruit, and a nice holiday spice selection. Flavor is dark fruit, sweet caramel/ brown sugar malts, a slight alcohol warmth, as well as the spices found in the aroma.
