There’s no explaination about this beer on the back label besides a short hint that you should serve it chilled… Are they kidding? Or what are they hiding? At fridge temperature you’ll kill everything strong belgian ales are about. That’s at least my opinion - but when you taste this beer, you might wel consider serving it a 6°C. The body is medium despite its 8,5% and the taste experience is quite flat, compared with other beers of this type. The mal sweetness is egalized by a spicy note and a subtle hop dryness. Average...

Pours two fingers of head on a dark brown body. The aroma is roasted malt, anise, smoke and pine. The taste starts with a mild malty sweetness, toffee, burnt wood and mild lemon bitterness. Nicely complex profile. The texture is crisp and a bit too fizzy. A wonderful ale.

I catched a sweet smell of raisins, spices and a lower sting from what I guess is the yeast, in other words, a hint of Santa’s underwear. The taste is dark fruits, raisins, brown sugar and a small bite of medicine? I guess it is pretty OK after all, I like the beginning and the longer aftertaste. It’s somewhere in the middle this one doesn’t cut it, with an emptiness and the medicinal aura.

Tap@ de klep als Corsendonk winterbier. Donkerbruin, veel plakkraag, ziet er goed uit. Ruikt metalig, mout. Smaakt moutig met sinaasappelschil. . Medium body.
