Bottle from The Abbot’s Ale House, Cork. Excellent christmas Ale with a very good head and lovely fruity, malty and spicy nose. Smooth mouthfeel with dates, caramel and spices and a hint of sherry. A nice warming, slightly bitter finish, one of the best Christmas ales i’ve tried.

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is dark ruby colored and pours a large cream colored head, with a lot of bubbles. The aroma is a spicy and fruity palate and has clear tones of figs, cloves, caramel, plums, dark fruits and sherry. The taste is medium bodied to full and has a lot of sweetness with in the background also the spices from the aroma. The finish is warming from the nice alcoholic boost and lightly bitter. Very nice Christmas Ale, the best so far for me.

Wonderful aromas of complex malts and hints of alcohol. Pours a nice deep, dark mahogany color with beige head that dissipates quickly.
