Also kind of sweet. Flavour first malty then it turns sweet. Pretty boring in my opinion, I had expected more.... Kind of bitter/sourish aftertaste. bobaidan (358), Farmington, Connecticut, USA

There isn’t a very strong aroma, but what is there is primarily spicy. Flavor is spicy and malty, with a hint of warming alcohol. There is also a definite citrus character. The spicy flavor lingers and grows as an aftertaste. A pretty good ale for a cold winter night. dwyerpg (2529), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Pours a dark brown amber colour with hints of red. Huge beige head, mostly lasting. Nicely carbonated. Aroma is very complex, predominantly malty and spicy. Flavour is strong but not as good as the aroma. In fact, body is a litttle thin. It has notes of caramel, malt and coffee. A little less sweeter than i expected. A very good beer but, in my opinion, a bit over-rated. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA

Nose is not particularly aromatic or interesting, mostly just suggesting caramelized brown sugar. Flavor is of currants, dried plums, and brandy. Semi-dry with herbal and woody hop flavors and substantial bitterness.
