apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Nov 3, 2005 Looks great, with a lush, full-frothy head, very dark brown body. The aroma is very full and spicy, lightly fruited with dates and figs, hints of cherry, and it is slightly sour. The flavor is very much characteristic of the aroma: fruits, sweet and sour. This beer is an interesting take on the BSA - maybe a little too sweet and a little less spicy than most, but not bad. notalush (2627), Denver, Colorado, USA Nov 3, 2005 Dark burgundy color, with huge, foamy head that dissipates quickly - aroma of brown sugar, spice and gingerbread (quite christmas-like) - tastes like a very yeasty version of anchor OSA, with less spice/nutmeg presence - slightly tart toward the end, cutting some of the sticky, cookie-like malt flavors - there are many better chirstmas beers. beeranarchist (184), Aalborg, Denmark Oct 30, 2005 Beautiful beer, deep amber-brown and nice head. Aroma of yeast and a little spice. Taste is similar. Good, but not very christmas-ish.. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA Oct 19, 2005 Pours a dark brown, small white head. Aroma of lemons, spice, molasses, nuts. Flavor is spicy and sweet, balanced with a bitter finish. Magicdave6 (5383), London, Greater London, England Oct 18, 2005 Updated: May 31, 2007No#51. Nice bottle which attracted annoying woman, anyway. Aroma is nicely sweet with spices dominating, decent amount of malt too. Taste is very similar with a great sweet finish. Appearance was nearly a 5 with excellent lacing. RERATE: Kulminator, 1998. It smells of age, cigar box thats well old and leather. Full body, woody, thick age. Really well aged. sammy3D (114), Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA Oct 8, 2005 Nice sudsy pour with lots of fizz out of the bottle. Spicy smoke on the nose with a hint of alcohol. Dark red to dark copper with a nice lacing head. Spice on the tip of the toungue with a fruit rasin, pepper with some sweet in the finish. Full bodied beer with a pleasant warming strength that is suprising for the smooth flavor.
