750 ml. bottle , marked best before Aug 17, 2018, from Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido for half off. Pour is dark ruby red with a decent tan head. Aroma of plum, sugar syrup, port, cherry, raisin, spices. You could call it plum holiday beer and it would be accurate. Malt forward but not too sweet, light bitter and slight sour. Medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, sweet/sour finish, slight smoke.

Swaroga (1950) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 12, 2016
Freshly opened it had intense aromas of red fruits, red apples, anise, lots of caramel and some little chocolate. After a while it makes me think of cocacola. The same in the taste. Some earthy notes to it with alcohol that is quite well hidden. The beer is well balanced but suffers from watery body. Not bad but not interesting neither.

Bottle from Drinkshop. Alcohol hidden well. Deep brown clear colour. Small head disappearing instantly. Very rich malty aroma and flavour, with dried fruits, toffee, caramel, plums, sherry. Very easy drinking with alcohol hidden completely. Excellent.

Bottle thanks to Eugene and after-Christmas sales. Paired with cookies and Deadwood. Deep deep dark brown pour, nearly opaque, with big creamy head that flourishes but dissipates soon enough, leaving behind lacing. I should let this warm up, but I’m impatient. Aroma is plum, fruit cake, toffee. I pass it to Summer and she hits on it right away: "reminds me of Dr Pepper." Yep -- with all the fruit cake there’s plenty of cola, vanilla, and secret Dr Pepper spicing. Moderate+ sweetness, medium body, slick texture. Overall: fancy Dr Pepper for grown-ups (which I mean in the best possible way). Edited to add: oh yeah, don’t forget the tootsie roll. Tootsie roll Dr Pepper beer.
