3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
RnH: Extreme Winter: Way too many Strongs by this point in the night... this brew held its own for sure. Really nice representation of the style, and a few stand out qualities... the body was very creamy, swept throughout the mouth... a nice hint of cloves came though in the nose and taste as well.

By the old Ones, what an awfull beer with an awfull taste of chemical...
We’re in front of a not so nice Christmas beer, with a light aroma and nice appearance, but a very awfull taste, and a light, soft palate.

250ml bottle served in a Trappist glass.
A: Pours a dark amber to brown color forming a big creamy beige head. Medium retention and many lacings left. Quite clear
S: Delicious bready and fruity smell. Brown sugar, caramel malts, Belgian yeasts, dark fruits. Strong notes of dry plums and dry raisins
S: Like the nose, brown bread, dark dry fruits, brown sugar, Belgian yeasts and licorice. Upfront is very sweet candy sugar. Yeasts are quite earthy. End is mild bitter
M: Creamy heavy molasses body. Reasonable carbonation. Light hoppy and bready aftertaste. Warm alcohol
O: Authentic Belgian ale. Well done. Very tasty and drinkable

"figured i better get this winter ale drunk before it gets too warm. unique malt quality and feel, like the pater, but with a touch more body and the presence of some nice spices as well. dark, fruity, hint of ginger? a touch of hops and a little dry yeast in the finish. maybe the new standard for belgian christmas."
