Launched 1982 by Jef Keersmaekers as Pater Noster. Brewed by Brasserie Du Bocq since launch.
Ingredients: Caramel, Pilsen and Munich barley malts, and Saaz, Kent and Hallertau hops

Krachtig bruisend, intens donker bruin.

Relativement ronde, prune, pruneau, peu d’amertume, plutot sucree. Final long sur lefuit caramelise.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Murky brown body with a thick beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, prunes and raisins. Flavour of wood, caramel and lightly roasted malt. Thin body with a slightly sticky texture. Overly fizzy carbonation. For me, Westmalle Dubbel has more depth of flavour, and a much better mouthfeel, but this is still a very good Abbey Dubbel.

Pours a dark brown with a substantial rocky head. Nose is grape, a little wine-ish, a little yeast ester, brown sugar. Taste is grape soda, a bit of chocolate, estery. Not very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
