4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black, and with lacing tan head. Aroma is yeasty, caramel malt and a light fruity note. Flavour is dark malty, caramel and with a light spiced note. A solid fruity flavour takes over before the finish. Fruity and yeasty spiced finish. Light bitterness and a lingering fruity note. Reminds a lot about Wetvleteren 8/12, lovely.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2006 (Bottle 25 cl) Hazy brown, almost muddy appearance. Lots of aroma from the malts, extremely aromatic and pleasant. A bit on the dry side for a "Dubbel" making this easier to drink than some of it’s brothers. Has been marketed extensively in recent years, but seems to have maintained all it’s qualities. 020893

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Dark amberish ruby colour with huge beige head. Lacing. Aroma is caramel, citrusfruit malts and sugar. Slight alcoholic hints also. Flavour is yeast, hops, grass and some caramel. Felt kind of "watery" and empty while being cold, but once it got warmer it got very smooth and pleasant.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 8, 2011 2010-08-12, bottle at Ris Ras, Århus, 8-4-6-3-14=35
Dark brown color; generous head, compact. The mix of dark malt and spices constitutes a nice arome, there is also a hint of Belgian yeast. The body is less strong than expected, a dry roastiness steers it in that direction too; mild flavor of roasted malt, medium to low bitterness, too simple. Balanced, but the Agnus Dei is better.

Clean dark amber color; generous, thick brownish head. Strong spicy aroma (cloves, cardamom, curaçao...). Good body strength, more on the sweet side (more balanced in the end); still some alcohol; again the same spices (a lot). Good and long final.
Spicy strong Belgian ale, very good quality.
